Flat spots and stalling around corners. New weber 38 DGMS

Hi all

Have just installed a new weber 38 DGMS in the premmie. Goes a lot better than the tired old Rochester that was in there previously. Except around corners where it seems to be starved of fuel and occasionally cuts out. Problem partially relieved by closing the choke. Is it the idle mixture? Idle speed sounds about right. Thanks in advance!

good running engine and box for sale shortly

next week im removing a 202 (3.3) from a vk commodore for a bloke, complete with trimatic, its also on lpg.
it is supposedly a very good runner. currently a driving car, its about to be turned into a brock replica.

anyone interested please let me know here, email me or call me. i'd much rather a good engine be used by someone in need, however if there is no interest i strip the thing and it will become a hq race donor block.

i will personally road test, compression test and report on things when i see the car.

Sad sale - UC Torana - as is (insurance write-off)

Feel free to check out my ad on Gumtree. Very sad sale, and in fact the damage is pretty much confined to the right front quarter (not taking into account the general condition of the vehicle), but I don't have the money or energy to tackle any repairs.

Blue 3.3 Clutch pressure plate bolt size

G'day I have a blue 3.3 that I am putting into my EK, trying to put as much new parts in as possible, I am chasing the size of the 4 clutch pressure plate bolts as I am changing the motor from auto to manual. Thanks in advance.

202 Trimatic Compatibility

Hey all.

I recently bought a complete VH rolling shell, only thing missing was the motor, trans and tailshaft. All that aside i aquired a blue 3.3 and trans, tailshaft too.

Now, silly my I let my ford crazed cousin fit the trans to the motor as i was unsure. Anyway, he killed it. Now sounds like a bunch of steel marbles being flung around an alloy casing as it idles.

My guess is the Trans is lunch. So would be my torque coverter and flywheel?

To save hassle as I cant be assed rebuilding, I have gone ahead and dragged out my spare VK EFI trimatic.

two questions on wb holden

question 1. I would like to know about the wiring of a genuine GMH taco as i am rebuilding a a W B one toner. on the back of the taco it has three polls for wire connections, they are marked as follows, looking at the back from right to left. 1. Brown, where does this go to the negative side of the coil? 2. Black. Is this the earth wire? 3. Pink. Is this to the power source? This W B has a blue six 3.3 fitted in from new,it has a electric dizzy on it, any problems with this?

Weber 34 on the HQ

Well, I followed through with the step from the Holley 350, and threw a 34ADM into the Q..... so far so good!!!!! Haven't had a test drive yet, as I'm without throttle setup hahaha.

Can anyone post pics of their throttle on the back half of the Weber?

Father, son project time.

Young bloke gets his L's in about 6 months. He's now the owner of a VS ute. Not quite the Oldholden I would like.....but he's stoked. And....we get some shed time. Needs a clutch, power-steer pump kit, new springs and move the hand brake lever. Happy days

Cluth Plate

What is the largest diameter clutch plate/pressure plate that will bolt up to a six cylinder flywheel?
Was there a 240mm (9 1/2") available?

350 holley carby issue, car goes to stall when i screw the idle set screw to idle higher

350 holley carby issue, car goes to stall when i screw the idle set screw to idle higher, which I want to do because the engine is close on dying in gear at idle. any ideas why it would doo that? i backed off the float in case it was flooding, no change, i raised the float a fract in case it was too lean, no change, I used the mixture screws, it ran a bit smoother but as soon as i tried to raise the idle, it almost died.

oil pressure

the oil pressure in my 202 dropped to near zero for a while then the engine started leaking oil like you would not believe, empty the sump in 200k. left puddles of oil every time I parked.
No unusual noises.
tested compression was ok, but dropped the sump and head any way, new rings new big ends new gasketa and oil seals, got all back together and running but still lousy oil pressure. at least no more leaks.
Possibilities..faulty oil pressure gauge, faulty oil pressure bypass spring in oil pump, leak in oil pickup in sump.
can the oil pressure spring be removed from the pump while in situ or is it easier to just pull the pump?
Didn't prime the pump after reassembly as i never had the pump out.

sludge

I went to the wreckers today after a central locking actuator and lock assembly for my daughters Focus.

I saw an efi VK that had been pretty well picked over. The rocker cover had been unbolted by someone else, but this was what the top of the engine looked like. I wonder why the other bloke walked away.

Blue 3.3 Engine Block

Blue 3.3 engine block ready has been bored to .060" over and skimmed, now ready for reassembly.
You can see the block is not drilled for a water galley on the front left between cylinders one and two, where as the head does have the required drilling.
