I have not seen one advertised in this condition since they were new!

It's got nothing to do with me - not mine - don't know the seller - etc, but I couldn't help pointing it out when I spotted it.

Hi all, I have a 1980 LWB Bedford Van with a holden red 202. In preparing to give the old girl a new lease on life and give it a full make over. My long term goal is to travel around Australia in it. Im not sure what to do with the engine and gearbox situation, im after something that will be reliable and not an extreme fuel guzzler but it needs to have a bit more power then the tired old 202 that currently powers it. Any info and ideas from anyone who have done up bedfords and has had experince with engine upgrades (fresh 202, V6 conversion, V8 power) would be a great help.

I believe CAD plating is now a thing of the past, and I had all my stuff zinc plated.

It's come back pretty bright - almost like chrome on some bits!!!

Looks great, but doesn't look right.

Can anyone help me with someone who may still CAD plate??

Just spoke to my engineer about VSB14 and he advised that I should be building my car to follow these guidelines as they could come in any day.
That means I can't legally put a supercharged v6 in but I can legally put a 6.0L LS2!
Can't figure that one out!

VSB14 changes the replacement engine size multiplication factors from 4 to 3 for supercharged/ turbo and from 4.82 to 5 for NA for vehicles heavier than 1100kg. The engine size is calculated by multiplying the original tare weight of the sedan version of the car fitted with the largest engine option available from the factory.

Lucky I rang him as I had a wrecked CV6 Monaro lined up as a donor car for the wagon that I was planning to pick up this weekend.

Gday guys new to the site and just after a few opinions..
I have a bedford on straight gas with a 202 and trimatic. at the moment i have pretty bad fuel economy with around 20-21 litres/100kms.
i might have the oportunity to get a chev 283 with a powerglide so im wondering if my fuel economy will improve much considering the engine should work less but its only a 2 speed. most of my driving will be around town and im running a banjo diff with 3.08 center so can change that if needed. ive had my gas tuned as economical as possible a few times but to no effect. is 20L/100kms really bad or in the ballpark? i dont plan to run the V8 hard im just looking for better economy and that sweet sound!!
