By 75matts 06/02/12@08:26Hi i am new to the site and couldnt find the bit where you can find answers to questions that have already been asked, so sorry if this is a repeat. the brakes on my HJ are playing up. everytime i hold the brake pedal down whether the car is running or not after about 2 minutes it goes to the floor and i lose my brakes untill i take my foot off the pedal and then repeat step one.
I checked the nipples and lines for leaks, to my limited experience it seems good
I bled the brakes
checked the suction hose (or whatever that hose is called)
still the same problem. if you have any ideas please let me know, as this is my daily driver and i dont like the thought of dodgy brakes.

Hey everyone, havin a couple of problems with my brakes and clutch in the HG. Brakes are working really well all the time but every now and then, after I push the brakes on, the pedal stays in for a while before it eventually springs back out. Tricky sometimes when I'm using them on and off, sometimes I have to sneak my foot under the pedal and pull it back out just to take off without the brakes on.
The other thing is the clutch, same deal it seems to be working fine, no problems changing gears etc but the pedal is pretty much pushing into the floor when you use it. Any way of tightening it up a bit or something. Any advice or links to past posts would be appreciated.

The HG i'm doing has HQ disc front brakes but I need to change my front stud pattern to early holden (HG rotors are NOT an option).
Has anyone done or looked into redrilling hq discs with the early pattern instead of buying blank rotors and having them drilled ?
Anyone got a pair of HQ rotors with early pattern to sell ?

FC UNREGISTERED
By a Holden Fan o.O 12/12/11@22:00Ive been out of the game for years, wondered if anyone knew how hard it is to engineer vehicles these days. Ive got an FC holden that Ive had for years in the shed, the kids are now at school and i was looking to re register it. It has 3.3 from vh commodore with head cam and triples, trimatic and nine inch with hq brakes. it has a twin cicuit master cylinder from vp. also has commodore rack and pinion that has f all lock.
The racks rear mounted and the coupling on the rack to column is minis uni joint and solid, i didnt do this i bought it like this years ago. the brakes will suffice, i remember the pollution regulations had to comply with the engine fitted not the car.
Best part, the genius cut the front outrigger off the HR crossmember

Stubtech drop axles & Where to buy axle nuts?
By Dec-150 08/12/11@14:59 Shed 4164Hey,
Does anyone know where you can buy new stub axle castle nuts for the old holdens?
Do general auto stores sell them?
Also if anyone has a HR lowered 2 inches ...and pics in your shed can you post up a link?
I'm considering drop axles from Stubtech set up for commodore brakes.
They're pricey but I plan on lowering it (don't know how much yet) and want commodore brakes and they'll aid in both.
Alternatively is anyone selling a setup to fit commodore brakes to a HR, I think my HR has HT stubs.
Cheers

Brake Issues
By HRDan 02/12/11@11:40Hello,
While driving around yesterday I noticed that the car was a little sluggish and after a 20 minute drive had diagnosed the issue as the brakes being stuck on a little.
On the was home the issue resolved itself and then returned worse. When attempting to change to second gear the car would initially behave when the clutch was pushed in however the brakes would then come on very strong while still having no contact with the brake pedal.
As this issue has come and go when I got home I attempted to establish which wheel/s were the problem and was unable to.
The brake fluid level in one of my containers has raised.
I am running a dual braking system with original drums at the rear and HQ discs on the front with HG calipers.
Any help would be appreciated, Dan.

By Q Banga GTS 26/11/11@21:33Hey Pooch, There is a Hr Drum front end on ebay in Parkes, NSW.
Just letting you know, it's $250, is that more then what the wreakers were asking?
Also on evil bay one in McGraths Hill, NSW 2756, Australia but it's a Grand.
