Differential Question
By RiceyJ 05/02/12@05:26 4680Can anyone tell me what the differnce, if any, between a commodore Salisbury 10 bolt diff and HQ era Salisbury 10 bolt diff is? Are the crown and pinion interchangable between the two? I have been on Holdenpaedia and there is some good info on there but cannot find the answer yet.
what they worth
By 1976-HX-GTS 31/01/12@01:33 Shed LetsCruise 4350thinking of changine out my wheels and tyres on the hx. i can't justify the hunting and cost for 14 x 265's so im going to go 15" weld pro stars i think. Wheels are in great nick. no pitting or scratches and the tyres all have 90-95% tread on them. fronts are 14 x 245, rears are 14 x 265
what are your thoughts on how much i should sell the wheels and tyres together for?

Traumatic troubles
By SIMROC 25/01/12@19:31Hi 5 years ago I built my trimatic up and manualised it all that upgrade stuff it started leaking oil when it was parked overnight out of the torque converter seal so I just resealed the outer seals of the box but it still leaks oil out of the front torque converter seal when I had it out I checked the shaft of the torque converter no bad wear marks, did my oil level when the car was hot after running through the gears when the car is turned off the level gets really really high I also noticed when I mount my torque converter to the flywheel it has to be pulled out a fair way to mount would that be a problem?

By TUFFVB 23/01/12@16:45 Shed LetsCruise 2152Hi all,
I need a manual pedal box and clutch cable for my celica conversion to my VB. If i get a 6cyl pedal box do i need a 6cyl clutch cable to suit? (and same if i get a V8) or doesnt it matter?
Also I do need a new spigot bush dont I?
While i've got a thread going, does anybody know a good place to get the tailshaft shortened in Parramatta-Hills area of Sydney?
Cheers

How to fit clutch spring on VB pedal box??
By TUFFVB 20/01/12@17:15 Shed LetsCruise 2152Hi all,
I have a manual pedal box to go into my car but it didnt come with a spring on the clutch pedal, I just bought one today for it but cant workout how to fit it. lol
I have looked at several diagrams on the internet and it doesnt realy seem to make sense for an idiot like me. I understand that the spring has to sit around the pivot arm, but I cant seem to see where the 2 clips on the ends of the spring go to.
If anyone can help me out with diagrams or just explain it to me it would be great.
Cheers

disc brake diff in! but..... .. .. .,
By nilza 13/01/12@13:35So after a long absense, I did get some parts together and manage to put the 10 bolt in the hq. But. . . . . . ., not without some problems. The actual bolt in of the diff is easy everything just fit except for changing over to metric flare nuts,
- residual pressure valve is out,
- changed over to a disc/disc proportion valve
- cleaned, kitted and painted the calipers
- added a set of slotted rotors to the front to match the back
- and put a new set of bearings and brake pads in
Tops!, except:( the ring and pinion is worn and whines like hell (guy i bought it off said it was good,..well)
Can I just change the disc brakes over to another 10 bolt? or is there a difference with the way the caliper bolts on?
