LC-LJ Steering Problem

Anyone that drives an LC or LJ torana - check
old nolethane steering shaft joiner at the
back of the engine bay.

One of my mates had me help him change out a
radiator and I noticed the old red nolethane
had cracked, and as I pointed at it saying
WTF I then pushed it with my finger and it
fell apart into ..... 3 parts.

We don't know where the other part of it went
so everyone please check it out.

I installed a set of lowered king springs in my hj wagon a few years back along with all new bushes ball joints etc.
All gaurd hights are within a few mls of each other but it looks lower in the rear, do i go super lower spring in the front or standard springs in the rear to level out the look.
Ideas or help is much appreciated.

More Power Steer Pic`s For T

g`day T,have got some pic`s together for the assembly of the control valve for HK-T-G power steering.

1st pic- i found the easiest way to assemble the control valve is to place the drag link into a vice.the ball stud & valve shaft rod have already been installed.

2nd pic- the small washer from the rebuild kit goes on 1st.

3rd pic- next is the annulus spacer, these are not supplied in any kits.

4th pic- next to go on is the large washer from the kit.

now we start with the internals of the control valve itself.

5th pic- is of the annulus seal

HT Power Steer Pitman Arm

G'day,

I've fitted the genuine ram style power steer to my HT and I'm trying to locate the correct Pitman Arm. Anyone know about these?

http://www.ebay.com....

Apparently they use a standard Pitman Arm and remanufacture it to replicate the Power Steer version... Pricey though, $229 delivered...

Hz power steering

Hi all I'm new to the show so be gentle. Anyway I have a question I hope someone can shed some light on it so here goes. I just fitted power steering to my Hz tonna all good until I noticed that the pitman arm is longer by about 5to7 mm. Every pitman arm I've measured has been the same size as the one on my manual box I pulled out which is 177 mm end to end and the one on the power steering box is 185 mm. The longer pitman arm is the same length as the pitman arm on the manual box in my Hqss.

Here is a scan of the front x-member and its mounts taken from the GMH shop manual for the HK.

Identical for HT HG except for rubber vs metal control arm bushes.

HT/G Front Cross member pics

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any photos or exploded diagram of how the front cross member bolts onto the subframe?

I pulled mine apart over 5 years ago, and am finally putting back together with new rubbers, but want to make sure everything is in the correct order.

Cheers
Dave

ultima schocks

Have Ultima HD shocks #400350L.
Shaft of shock is too broad to fit through opening in lower control arm.
Details for fitment on Ultima page suggests whole may need to be widened for fitment.
Would this be fine to die grind a few mil out of the arm?

A9X

Hello fellow old Holden fans. I'm after spec's on the A9X stub axles, in particular the dimension from the stub spindle centre line to the bottom of the stub axle at the base of the lower ball joint. I have searched Holdenpeadia without any luck. I think I'm correct in saying that the HQ-WB 1 tonner stubs are similar but lower the car so I wanted to know if the A9X stubs also lower the car. I have a set of hardened stubs and UC steering arms I want to fit on my LX but I don't want to lower it from where it sits now.
Thanks mal

POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE SPECIFICATIONS

G'Day, just an enquiry on some hose specifications. Can someone tell us what the end fitting specifications are on the high pressure power steering hose. We appear to have 18 TPI 5/8 at one end and 11/16 18 TPI at the other end. Is this a standard hose?
It's on a HQ and we are not completely sure if it's fitted with completely original equipment.
Thanks

Holden/Chev power steering

G'day All.
Have done a search - without luck, on power steering pump options for the Chev into HQ - WB swap.
I have a March bracket kit that mounts the pump on the passenger side and understand the power steering pump from a six cylinder will do the job?
Can anyone enlighten me on the subject?
Cheers, and thanks in advance.
Jacko.

HK Power Steering Control Valve Pic for T

had a set back with the power steering in the Hk.had everything hooked up,time to start her up & check for leaks.

all was looking good,no leaks from the pump or hoses in the engine bay.stuck my head under the car to see a huge puddle of power steering fluid on the floor under the control valve.shut the car down & wiped the fluid off the valve.nothing coming from hose connections, all the fluid was coming from the valve itself,so time to pull it all out & do a rebuild.

the pic above shows the internals of the control valve.starting from top right to left, then middle right to left, followed by the valve body, ball stud seal & clamp on the bottom.will be installing a new seal kit as well as ball stud seal as this was torn
