custom sway bars

Has anyone any knowledge or experience on getting a sway bar made for custom application ?
Thinking like the v8 HT-HG sway bar . it has a woop in the bar to clear the oil filter ........but instead of the woop around the oil filter, i need a woop to go around the harmonic balancer .
Thinking i can cut'n shut a standard bar to suit it then the maker can use the design as a rough pattern

rear shocks for lowered hj

I have a HJ GTS Monaro sedan which was lowered by the previous owner. The problem is that whenever it is put on a hoist the coils move out of their seats on the body of the car. I've measured the point at which coils start to get loose and I would need a shock with an extended length of 450mm.
I did put some slightly taller coils on the car but I still have a gap of about 25mm when the car is jacked up. I like the look of the car and would prefer not to go to standard height coils.

steering shaft

ok guys I need some advice please,
This is a steering shaft out of a HQ -HZ, they are a "collapsible" in the case of a Major Accident, they have a PLASTIC PLUG that goes through the shaft.
Rare Spares don't seem to stock them(couldn't see it on there web site) and cart seem to find anything on e-bay ?
Any help or ideals or alternative option would be much appreciated,

Fitting Power steering to HQ with a 350 Chev

Hi

I am trying to fit a Power steering pump to a SBC 350 Chev with a short water pump.

There is only one bolt hole in the head on the drivers side and two holes for mounting (in US) a low mount alternator. If i try and use these holes the hose from the water pump hose is in the road.

Even if i try and low mount the power steering with the alternator above on the passenger side i would then need to run longer hoses so would need to make them up.

Anyone come across this before? Help...

wb idler arm

Can someone give me the procedure to fit a wb idler arm ?

I've looked at youtube clips but all video show idler arm supports which are fixed not turned in or out.

I guess you turn the support bracket all the way in and then back it off 1 turn ?

Springs for a HZ V8

Just wondering if people can tell me if all the springs are the same for HQ to HZ. I know they will fit between models but where they all the same height etc?

hq holden one tonner front control arms assembly

Trying to assemble the front end on our tonner , its a bare chassis with rear end on
wanting to put front suspension on so l can roll it around with wheels on

problem is have rebushed front end ,have the control, arms connected

now because l have no weight at front how do l go about putting in springs and raising up lower control arm to connect front spindle

l do have spring depressors ,one set that go inside the spring ,
bit hesitant to depress the spring that much to bring up control arm

Hg idler set up

Hi
Does anyone know what the height/gaps are for setting up the steering idler on a HG Holden.
The shop manual tells how to set the distance between the face of the idler and idler bracket but no info on how far to screw the end in that goes into the draglink to get it to the right height, any help much appreciated.

Intermediate steering shaft

I've got a shaft out of a low mile HZ donor car, knuckle movement seems/feels good and the boot is in top condition however .. the donor car has been parked up for over 25 years .. Good to go or would i need to pull it apart and grease it or something ?

EH Front End Spacers

G'day all,
One of the spacers on my front end has rusted pretty badly. It's one of four that go through the subframe - the four subframe bolts run through each spacer to hold the front end on to the subframe. I've searched high and low for a replacement with no luck. Any ideas on where I can get a replacement? I was thinking that I could get one cut from some tube stock but they are a weird size...

HR 50th rebuild

My Xmas presents finally arrived. New V6 conversions IFS for my HR & a Supra 5 Speed. Got the brake booster & Rack end kit. Got a rebuilt VS power steering rack. VS stub axles etc. Been a good few months but finally all here. My engine is still being built so got to be patient. At least I can start taking the old girl apart. Lots of fun ahead!

HQ statesman steering/suspension issue

Seasons greetings Old Holdeners.

Hopefully someone here can provide some ideas/solutions/insight to steering issues.
1973 DeVille 308 auto, done 67,500km (whether that makes any difference or not. 15,000km in last 2.5 years in which ive owned it)

I took a hold of my vehicle last week, after it had front upper/lower arm bushes and sway bar bushes replaced (im told the engineering outfit that replaced the arm bushes had a nightmare of a job removing the old bushes. 1/2 day or more and nearly gave up).
