WB Statesman Steering Wheel

I was going to have a go at tidying up the tired steering wheel of my WB Statesman. Its the single spoke type - similar to early SLE Commodore steering wheels (an example pic attached). The rim of the wheel has faded in places so I was going to repaint it. Unlike the older hard plastic wheels this wheel is a bit soft and spongy. Has anyone restored one of these wheels - any tips or recommendations - what to use- what not to use?
Thanks

HG holden panel van door gutter installation

Our pv is missing the door gutters above the doors. Have managed to obtain a pair but am not sure how they go on. The top curved part is obvious but the straight bit is not. The straight part that goes at the front of the window is longer than the gap to put it in. Do they overlap?

HK Wagon to Monaro

Dear friends,

OK, this sounds stupid but what the hell...I am from Sri Lanka and I found an abandoned hearse (Holden HK). I know a top panel beater guy. I am thinking of making a HK monaro. Yes, you read it right.

I figured out that the front doors are longer in the monaro and B-pillar (yes, it has none) to rearwards are totally different.

But what about the front? Aren't they the same?

And does the HK wagon too have a semi-chassis in the front like the HX sedan and wagon? Or is it unibody?

She's finally home

Evening all. Just thought I'd share a couple of pics of mine and my girlfriends new toy. As you all can see, she needs alot of work to get back on the road. But we're both up for the challenge. She's a 1967 HR Special with factory 186 and 2 speed powerglide. Drums all round. Only question i have at the moment is what's involved in changing to disc brake front. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers ray

Well well well

As it is restoring old cars finally got some paint on the old car, havnt clear coated it yet as it needs a few more on it an a couple off spots that need a bit more time spent on em .
Also getting rid off the chrome strip so the holes are going to be plugged with stainless Phillips head screw/bolts an lock nuts an ground the heads off a bit at a time (due to heat ) done a few this way an found it works in the past.
Whom ever said paint a car white an it will hide stuff is a lier 😎
I have painted cars black as well ,l wound say dark blue hides the most little marks etc

HT Wagon Seat Belts

G'day,
I am about to fit Lap sash ( non retractable) belts to my HT wagon. I was hoping someone who has done this might ba able to offer up some tips or even photo's if possible. I have removed the back seat to find 2 captive nuts. Not sure if they were meant for belts or not but my main concern is the pillar. any advice would be greatly appreciated

OldCelica.com

Image:

Not really old Holden related, but I wanted to check in and see what everyone was up to.

Its been ages since I have been on here. A mate recently purchased an RA28 Celica and has recruited me to build it. Fair amount of Rust, but im starting on the Worst Panel First (Door) - I figure if i can save it then the rest will be easy.

I bought a little $400 3 in 1 Welder on Ebay, and got some Gas and .6 wire, and must say im impressed how good it is to work with. Costs me $100 a year to rent the Gas, and makes gasless look like a joke.
