my EJ ute if off to the paint shop for a cover of matt black.

She is to be my "tow car" for my 1959 Bondwood caravan I think was made by Supalite.

My mechanic has made all the difficult repairs and has given her a tune and guess what we discovered....she has a ground cam...it's mild but very nice to listen too..

Who else on this site has a vintage van?

Can the Cowl Vent Tubes be replaced without taking the guards off ?

Just wondering how you change outrigger on HT i want to change mine but i noticed its held on with rivets is it safe to remove rivets and change the outrigger over and bolt new one on

G'day all,panelbeaters with old time skills mainly, I'm after any tips on making dollies and bodyspoons for hard ,to get at panels?
I,m trying to metalfinish the rear 1/4s on an hq ute mainly between the door and wheelarch. So far I have done the dents I can reach with hand dollies and slappers. I'll need an assistant and some bodyspoons to reach the lower dents.I also have a shrinking disc so some overstretching is not a problem.Amazing thing the shrinking disc.
Any help much appreciated....cheers ...Paul

Recieved my new floors for the pano yesterday (Thanks to Betta Auto)
So Im hoping for a clear weekend so I can have a crack at welding them in.

Are there any tips that might help me out while I attack them? I plan on butt welding them in, so no overlap to catch water or moisture in and rust them out again..
Been through a lot of streetneats pics which helps out too...

Afternoon all!

I noticed recently, that when wearing polarised sunnies in my car, there is a patchy, blue coloured visual affect across the screen. I'm presuming the screen is laminated but pretty old - I've not replaced during my 8 years of ownership.

I guess that polarised lenses are all the same, but does this patchy effect apply to ALL laminated screens?

Are new, or certain types of laminated screens free of this problem?

Could be handy to have this sussed if I this current screen needs replacement down the track...

I've got some HQ premier sill trims (the ones that go from bottom of the front to rear doors and cover the whole sill) i think there stainless or chrome.
They worth a cracker i had them left over from my last build and i don't particularly like them, so i might sell them. only found one pair on ebay.

Well did some more on rust repair it was a very close fit in regards to not welding it to chassis but i think i got there ok checked with good old dentist mirror and looks good

this section i think was hardest due to multiple curses in that particular section and making this section by hand took some time with average shed tools i think 5 hours in total just in making the piece up but took my time to make sure i got as close as possible

I measured and there has been no movement

I think overall i have been lucky considering the fronts still connected to car i still agree with everyone front should be off for this kind of work but its worked out ok only one section left before i do small bits left out and clean it up etc

I have just replaced the head lining in my HZ ute and am unsure as to how I fit the rear window.It didn't have one fitted when I bought it as a rolling shell.Any help would be much appreciated.

i have a hr premier and i dont know what colour to paint it can i get some sugestions even pictures.
i was thinking orange would that colour look good???
