Just wanted to check the numbers on my HR and wanted abit of help as i am having trouble on holdenpedia trying to find clear infomration on numbers for HR ID

any information from these numbers would be great!

also have a 179 block with numbers M221340

and 186 with numbers 186K36168

any information would be much appreciated

I've been looking for a while and there doesn't seem to be a huge number of factory workshop manuals for HK-T-Gs floating around. Are they particularly hard to find? Better yet, has anybody got one they want out of?

Hi,i have a Radiator, part #7416663 two core,and wondering how much thicker a Radiator, part #7418483 three core would be.I'm pretty sure the #7418483 is auto ej,not sure what #7416663 is out of.Also i am hoping the width and height would be much the same.Thank you Markfb.

I'm wanting to upgrade the bench seat in my HK panelvan with an HQ sedan bench seat. does anyone know if they are interchangeable ? Will the HQ seat fit into the HK and what mod's if any will I need to look at ?

I really bought it for this, VR-BT1. 5lt/Auto, HSV Air intake. Hopefully if all goes to plan I may have a tonner to put it in.....Maybe.

a friend told me today that new laws have been passed in vic in regards to pit inspections for cars that have been out of rego for more than three months.

His understanding was that all vehicals having pit inspections now have to have internal panels inspected by camera for rust???? also that repairs to panels such as floors ( which i need to do) must have the full panel replaced if rusted not just one side??? If repairs are done they must be photographed for records at the pit.

Has anyone heard this stuff???
where can i find laws or guidelines. I dont'want to replace the floor in my ute and find its not legal or to have to do it again..
I also have to replace an internal panel of the cowl

I dragged this UC diff out to use but hmmmn...
Seems to be LSD, good but it is 3.90 ratio :-O

Nice ratio for playing up but how bad is it going to be for everyday use (mostly highway use) behind a 253 and aussie 4 speed ? Fuel economy going to suffer greatly ?

Lastly, Diff only had a half cup of oil in it .. What's involved in replacing the seal in behind the tailshaft yoke ? Do ya get it from the front or do ya need to remove/upset the centre ?

Hi all, I am looking at this HJ sedan at the moment but i think that it is overpriced. It has been sitting for 5 years so everything will need rebuilding. (Which i do not mind as it will be the eldest boys project/1st Car.The seller had $600 on it then changed it to $700.00. I offered him $400 as is/ where is/drag away today but he came back at me with $600.00 I offered $450.00, no response....I ain't to bothered either way as i do not need

Can anyone confirm if HQ backing plates, brakes and hubs will bolt straight onto a UC salisbury diff ?

Also, Would anyone know if the aftermarket sunroofs from the 80's all a std size or not ? Got one to sell me ?

I'm putting a HKGTS dash in a HG, i'm guessing it wont be a straight forward plug in job but will i need to modify the HG loom or just add a wire or three for the oil ect' guages ?

Ute has had a jam job in john deere green, what's the easiest way to tell if it's enamel or acrylic ?

Late edit: Do UC axles have the same spline as HX-HZ salsbury axles ?

Main pic shows how to measure backspace so this 15 x 8 inch rim measures 4" so 4" backspace it is

But..but when measuring the width, take the measurement from outside edge to outside edge then detract one inch as an 8 inch rim will read 9 inches (a 7 measures up at 8 ect)

When measuring the diameter you also detract an inch so this 15 inch rim actually measures 16 inches

Looks pretty un-technical but it's right as i checked two other cars ..same..same.

HI all been away a while but managed to pick up another toy, apparently I should've consulted the minister of war and finances first ( hiding it at a mates place didn't help) so she needs a new home.
Its a HT Ute with a HP block bored out to 186 set up for a sprint car. every thing is on it but the headlight surround mounting screws, has a little rust but not a huge amount for what she is, shifter is sloppy as but I have already got another for it that can go with it. Rear drums seem to be out of round as well but I haven't looked or started to solve this yet.
