Fitting HG Pillar lights

Hi, im just in the process of rebuild my hg belmont, im not far of getting it back from paint and have started to organize and design the interior.

I want to know if any one has fitted brougham/monaro pillar lights to there belmont/kingswood befor?
are there brackets or hole/ provisions for them behind the roof lining?
or do i have to make some and improvise?

any photos or help would be appreciated.

EK Holden Ute

Hi guys, restoring an EK Ute and need to replace the full floor pan so I am looking for a EK sedan/ute shell to cut and shut for the floor. Also looking for a fuel tank for an EK. I have heard there was/is an old Holden wreckers in Barossa valley/koonunga hill area, does anybody know of such a place? chevy 6 cyl

Hi has any body fitted a 6cyl chev into an ht or hg, I have a parts car that's to good to cut up, a friend has a 6cyl with v8 pistons & worked head, I'm thinking will it fit into hg

253/308 Oil pump drive shaft failed

The oil pump drive shaft in my 253 failed when the casting that holds the support bush broke away from the block. After striping off the timing cover I discovered that it had happened before and has been bronzed up previously, not very well !!!
Has anyone experienced this before, what causes this to happen and how can I fix this without replacing the block?
I am not very happy as this has done a lot of damaged to my new motor.

I recently had the oil pump drive fail in my 253. The cast housing that holds the support bush broke away from the block. This caused a lot of damage. Has any experienced this and how did you fix the broken casting on the block.

Gilmer

Im trying to chase up an extra long gilmer belt, I have found a few stockists that sell gates style belts but does anyone know the pitch of a standard gilmer drive. I think they are 3/8" (9.5mm), which makes it harder to find 1.5" wide belts. Has anyone sourced a longer belt and where did you get it?

AP60 Cruise control

Any one had any experience with an AP60 cruise control unit? I cant get the actuator to work. Command unit is sending signals and actuator works direct from battery - just wont respond via command module. TIA

hk ht hg IFS front ends

hi Guys,

putting an IFS front end in my HT and havent been able to get much feedback on all the different ones available.

currently leaning towards castlemaine rod shop or the rod-tech ones but if anyone can lend some knowledge/reviews/expiriences before i fork out this much money that would be much appreciated

Holden/Chev power steering

G'day All.
Have done a search - without luck, on power steering pump options for the Chev into HQ - WB swap.
I have a March bracket kit that mounts the pump on the passenger side and understand the power steering pump from a six cylinder will do the job?
Can anyone enlighten me on the subject?

connect vk trimatic with hx column using th400 cross shaft?

trying to get a 202 black motor with vk (LP) trimatic to connect up to column shift in holden hx wondering if you can bolt up a th400 cross shaft to connect the vk box to the hx column?

hx trimatic gearbox question?

Putting in hx ute a 202 black motor and trimatic gearbox with auto codes LP on leftside and HP on right side.
my question is it a floor shift box or a column shift and can it be used for column shift?

Hooking up 350 holley

Hey guys,
My stromberg just kicked it in on my 186... I have a 350 Holley to hook up, is there any way I can hook up the acceleration rods from the stromy to the Holley... Would like to avoid having to hook up a new cable and pedal?

308 idle issues, help would be appreciated

Hi,

i recently had my demon 650 vac secondary rebuilt, just got around to bolting it back on the car and having some serious idle issues.
i have not touched anything since i have taken the carby off the engine.

I can get the idle down to around the 700-800 mark for a while but the idle fluctuates every 25-30 seconds going up to 2500-3000 and back down to 400rpm almost stalling.
i have pulled apart a fully rebuilt carby and cleaned out all the jets and metering block with carby cleaner and a air gun.

checked timing
vacuumed hoses don't seemed to be leaking, but replaced all of them anyways
fuel pressure 5psi
fuel mixed screws set to 1.5 turns out (where it was before i took the carby off)
replaced the metering gaskets and carby base gasket

Trying to nut things out

Trying to work things out to work that looks good in your head is harder then it looks HT dash needs to be pushed to LHS to make the steering column lineup the we will shorten the glove box lid to make both sides even then make the HT pedal box fit not as hard as i looks at 1st as i am moving the wipper motor under dash and then to fit the LJ handbrake but slow and steady .. at least im back to working on it after a long hiatus feels good to be back in shed too ... cheers bubsy

Red heads on blue 308 straight gas legal in vic? ?

Hi all.
I need to replace the heads on a blue 308 motor in a wb.
Can i legally put red heads on if I'm running straight lpg in vic?
I'm interested in red heads so i can buy a single plain manifold.
I'm also wondering with the straight lpg if i would get better performance with a dual carb manifold using 2 impco 425s rather than one. I know lpg uses more volume in the manifold then petrol.
