I found some numbers on my chev small block and was wondering if anyone could please help tell me what it is?
on back of block GM 3970010(block casting) and F160(date code i think)
On front of motor V0624CNT and i think 860910k they were hard to read.
I tried working out what it is but not sure.
Block is a 2 bolt also. Is it a 350?

cause i've got a vh sl/e holden and it got his name in my car can someone tell me about him and what dose it mean like theres a red tags whit his name on it. Is it a limited edition or something like that cheers guys etc.....????????

I have a small block chev, size un none, how do i work out what it is, it's supposed to be a 350. someone said i need to get the number off it but where is the number located on chev's, it seams to have a few different numbers on it. i know lots about holden V8's but nothing about chev's, it's my first.
Also have a bell housing, i think it's from a chev with muncie, if so what number should be on it.

hi I am hoping that someone can help me with original wiring harnes part #'s

The information I am after is the original wiring harness part numbers for a HQ GTS under dash wiring harness and the engine bay harness as well.

I have a part # of 2823068 but am not sure if this is the correct one or not.

Also if you could scan these pages that this information is on also that would help me as well.

Hi, Im just about to get my radiator looked at as the temp guage has decided to jump up to half way and higher some times. When i first bought it it was sitting on 1/4. Some one has allso hardwired the cooling fan to run all the time. I just wanted to know where does the Temp guage normally sit when in highway use.

I've found a set of SU's for sale on manifold for a 'Red 6', they have been acid cleaned, and rebuilt, seals, needles etc...

My question is, will the 1 1/2 inch be damaging to my engine?? opposed to 1 3/4??
At the moment i am running a single barrel Stromberg, the car was bought second hand a few months ago, and WAS running on gas before i bought it, the previous owner had removed the gas, and had it on petrol for the duration he claimed on owning it(2 years).

Also i'll attach a picture, of which i believe is the wrong rocker cover for this engine, it has a sticker on it saying 're-manufactured for gas'

Any advice is appreciated!

hey,ive recently been told the powerglide 6 is a stronger body than the 8s were,therefore if you change the clutch packs to be an 8 you will have a slightly stronger (litterally) box than a standard 8.is this correct,any comments

Has anyone come across the tool they break the ball joint tapers with, it pushes against both joints then screw it up untill they become free?
saves beating up on the control arm and joint.

HZ Kingswood Ute - Wipers make hell of a noise squeaking back and forth and dont really have much affect.
Washer motor seems fine, and it might just be I need to replace the blades.

Wheres a good place to get some new uns? Is it double or single blade?
Any tips on getting them to work well?

We have an issue with the hq gts that is currently in the build.
Recently we have discovered that there are differences between the flutes on the front guards.
Pictures show two original guards, not weld-ins, with two different locations for the slits?
Any ideas.

G'day fellas, in the process of restoring my HK Monaro and need to know what is the correct brake booster for my car. It has a 307 Chev and doesn't have aircon. Took it off ages ago and seeing as I have quite a few floating around in the shed, i've forgotten which is the correct one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Glenn.

Hi guys back again after selling the ute i was looking for another but have found a vh sl/e 308 5ltr insted its prety clean for an old girl just a bit rough around the edges. my qyestion is what parts are interchangeable with other commodores from that era like a vk for instance dont no to much about the older commodores but hope to learn with this one and if any one no's of a wreckers where i can get some pannels for her and parts would be very gratefull

My question is will this be straight bolt for bolt exchange for my current 3.08 drum break diff?
