Hi All. Just a quick question. I'm after a column auto nuetral starter switch for my beloved HG and I was wondering if the powerglide switch is the same as a trimatic one as there is a powerglide switch on ebay. Or if anyone has a switch they would like to sell i'm chasing one as well as a drivers armrest in sandalwood and two electric window motors, one for each side. Cheers.

Just wondering how you change outrigger on HT i want to change mine but i noticed its held on with rivets is it safe to remove rivets and change the outrigger over and bolt new one on

Leroy I was looking through your trim pics & noticed that you dont have a pic for 19G trim inserts, it so happens I have a HQ kingswood sedan with 19G trim, well whats left of it anyway, here is a pic of the front bench all thats left, standard Kingswood stitching pattern, but the material is a copper & black checker pattern, which would've looked very nice when new, I have included a pic of a section of the material that has come unstiched & show it's original colours. up to you if you want to use it..

Any man and his dog has been able to sell me an Idler Arm Support Bracket - the component that bolts to the left side chassis rail - and I have a new one ready to fit.

What I REALLY need is the Idler Arm itself - with sort of male and female ends - that is linked to the Support Bracket and the left end of the Drag Link respectively.
Mine is totally flogged and the steering is increasingly dodgy.

Problem is, I can't find one ANYWHERE!

Do any OldHoldeners here know who might make, sell &/or rebuild such a thing?

hi all i have a smiths temp gauge 2 inch , its marked from 90 deg f to 230 deg f , im after a temp sender to suit holden 179 red motor , have tried all avenues for info and no one can help , i really want to use gauge as its like new . has anyone had same prob if so what sender did u use , hope someone can help

Trying to id a gts 2 door. I have matched the saftey compliance plate vehicle seriel number with the seriel (chassis) number on the frontend but how else can I tell if the other 2 tags (skinny and body identification tags) are originaly from the car from new?

Is a rough dateline and plant origin the only way to correlate all three plates?

Holden HQ wagon headlining trim part No "2820520 DX", it's the "DX" I need decoded, as my first ed HQ parts manual dosn't have this colour code listed, can someone check there later editions or have a trim sample listing codes? May not be listed until the HX/HZ manuals, as I belive some part no's/codes were revised.

I am putting a 202 in my hr to replace the 179hp. I have 2 rebuilt engine choices to go with. Both only standard & was wondering is the engine number any thing to go by?
(It has an aussie 4 speed & 3.36 banjo)
1st is a HL779**
2nd is a QL840***

My searches found the the

HL is LH/LX ADR27 - LX/UC ADR27A High compression manual

QL is HQ-HZ & LX High compression

Is one a better option & what does the ADR27 & ADR27A mean??

Just wanted thoughts on what i just did, to avoid removal of my lower wishbones to press new ball joints i slightly and neatly oversized the the holes
with a barrel grinder and madeshift pressed them with the slight assistance off a lump hammer and large socket. Question being will they hang in there it wont be driven much more of a monthly Sunday drive car. Again thanks for any feedback. Jonesy

cant find my 3970310 block cast number any where off suffix i can see it may be a police issue,its a 1974 jamesville build,i think but side cast is not any where,how do i go about finding all cast info,google shows most but not every type and number?help!!

Well finally got me rebuild kits with all new shafts and butterflys bushes etc and i was going to get mate to rebuild them but i was thinking i might give it ago i have manual book etc and wanna learn so i can do them in future plus might give me clearer understanding of how they work

so does anyone know if i need any special tools or can i do it with average shed tools and any tips or recommendations
