WE ARE ONE

We are the people of a free nation of blokes, sheilas and the occasional wanker. We come from many lands and although we live in the best country in the world, we reserve the right to bitch and moan about it whenever we bloody like. We are One Nation but divided into many States.

First, there's Victoria, named after a queen who didn't believe in lesbians. Victoria is the realm of Mossimo turtlenecks, cafe latte, grand final day, and big horse races. Its capital is Melbourne, whose chief marketing pitch is that "it's livable". At least that's what they think. The rest of us think it is too bloody cold and wet.

do not use big kevs stain free on car carpet

after a few days of heavy rain, i noticed a mould patch on the carpet of the HZ, thinking i should get onto this a.s.a.p before it spreads any further, well i did, upstairs, grabbed big kevs stain free, sprayed a bit on, it removed the mould and the stain alright, but it also removed the dye in my carpet!!! [Naughty Pottyword]!!! so if you stain your carpet in your car, DO NOT USE BIG KEVS STAIN FREE!!!! unless of course you want your carpet to look like [Naughty Pottyword], good onya big kev ;)

For sale or swap : Brisbane : Disc Brake 10 bolt Salisbury diff to suit HQ - HZ sedan

G'day everyone,

I am on the southside of Brisbane and I have a perfect condition disc brake 10 bolt Salisbury diff to suit HQ - HZ sedan for sale or ideally to trade for another diff to fit my HQ tonner. When I say perfect condition, I mean it is as quiet as a church mouse, no noises at all. Brakes are relatively new as well.

If we are trading, I am flexible on drum or disc, single spinner or LSD .... as long as it is a Salisbury to suit a one tonner and is in likewise condition to the one I am trading, IE : NO noises. I even have a few other parts if you need them, I will throw them in to sweeten the pot. Hell, I might even settle for a Bang-go, if the price is right.

The Rant

Well everybody,

time to fix this site. it is in a real bad way. the little people who run it are not in such a great way either. it is a big world out there and the 1.1 machines that run it is a joke that has gone on too long. backups are not possible as it requires switching the web bitty off for too long, we need to backup. more security is needed and backups make this real quick to swap machines around so we are not played with. we should have more than one machine so that all the services are not in one place, this would make it faster for you too and we could think about swapping machines quickly when needed. 24/7 is too much for a couple of 2nd hand hard drives and the desktop machine that I used to have....so are multiple 1000 dollar bills in the mail.

not a holden, buuuuuut....

howdy yall, i just thought i'd post here cause you all seem to be fans of nothing less than 6 cylinders. i have a 74 merc with 8 so i figured here would be the place to ask such a question.

basically, i have a stock 3.5 litre V8 engine in my 1974 350 se. i replaced the water pump and had to re do the timing , and am now running a mild spark advance over stock, and i must admit, it sounds tough. (not the same as a warm 308 with twin 2 1/2 pipes out the ass, but still, play with what you have). can someone (anyone) please tell me the pro's and con's of friggin with the timing on such (or any) a fine automobile?? it is fuel injected, and is running twin pipes through a standard exhaust system.

308 slow to crank?

I've recently acquired a non-holden 4x4 fitted with a red 308 probably 70's vintage. It seems to crank very slowly, even with a new battery and leads. By slowly I mean it turns over but lazily not fast enough to start. I am getting a spark at the plugs, and fuel to the pots but it won't fire up. Eventually, the starter started to vent smoke... I'm picking the starter is tired and probably has a short inside. Am I right or is slow crank typical with these older V8's and I have another problem like timing etc?

Thanks!
