I just put a standard cluth in my FX Ute running a EJ 138, the new thrust race squeals like a bitch nearly every time I put the cluth in.
It took about a month to start making the noise, it works just fine. Can anyone help.

Like many kids in 70's the car to have that we could afford was a 60s Holden.
My old grandfather got ill and my mum adopted his pink EK special sedan.
138 engine and the old hyrdromatic gearbox.

It was the car I statred driving in and was a great old bomb.
All original including the standard rusted floor inside.

My mum was tiny and sat on 2 pillows to see over the wheel.
No seatbelts of course.
Living in Sydney , one day she was doing a family trip with 2 kids inside.
A PMG work ute one of those big old International things t boned her at about 35 mph.

Their fault entirely.
The engine was pushed back into firewall and the drivers side was pushed in about 4 inches.
How mum and sisters survived without a scratch who knows?

I no longer have my FJ but I bought a gearbox synchro kit and bearing which i didn't end up needing. I paid $200.00 for it but would accept any reasonable offer if anyone is interested. Thanks.

ijust bought a hyrdamatic gearbox off ebay and was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get it rebuild i live in canberra but i have heard that there is a bloke in the blue mountains that rebuild them

Well have't posted for some time,but am very happy that my '53 FX sedan is now what some would call a running concern.As the title states the FX is now regoed under club reg. and I can legally drive on the road Ya!.Just need to do a few tweeks eg suspension,finish off trimming ect,but can now go on club runs ect

A project I need to sell. No storage. Recent paint to stop surface rust. Brakes all rebuilt. Motor needs work (full gasket kit included). Body is very straight with one bump on the passengers rear quarter. Has rust in floors (drivers side is worst). Passengers front floor needs patching. The car is complete and ready to check out. The car is on the Central Coast of NSW near Terrigal. Workshop manual and owners book included. More pictures have been posted in that past.

Ratheer than buying new mags wheels for my fx ute, I've been thinking about getting the original wheels chromed? Then its been suggested I get chrome domes to cover the grease cap at the end of the axle stub?

Sorry all a bit new to me. Who sells such domes and how do they attach? to the stub axle over the grease cap?

Is this a god way to go?
