gday, i just pulled my ute down to the chassis and was looking at the rear suspension. when i noticed that the front link of the rear suspension was held in by a bolt with no nut. both sides were like this so i assumed that it must of been threaded plate. doesnt seem to be. there isnt enough bolt to fit a bolt to fit a nut on so im wondering if its been cut. if any1 knows how the setups spose to be please share,
cheers foxy

Drove past a sign the other day that said there was a swap meet at Cessnock next weekend. I only caught a glipse of the sign so I might have read it wrong
Does anybody know if it is on next weekend? Which day it is? And if its worth taking a drive to have a look at?

gday all, just posting this in regard to all the attention all the young p platers are getting over being hoons etc. im nearly 17 and doing up a wb for my first ute and i would like to draw attention to the fact that like all aspects of life,a small majority is again ruining things for everyone. not all young blokes are more interested in their stereo than their motor. and not all are reckless hoons.
just letting all holden enthusiests out there know that ther is hope yet for the younger generation.

I am planning to do the rear brakes on my WB ute next weekend (V8). My old man gave me a set of good drums for the back and I was thinking of taking them in to get machined this week so I can swap them over with the new shoes next weekend.
I am pretty sure they were of one of the HQ-HJ's he used to own however they were all sixes.
Are all these drums the same even if they are different diffs?

Hi all, I've been asked to O haul a Q jet from a WB [blue] 308. Problem is that some genius has tried to convert the auto choke to manual. As a result the following parts are missing and I would like to buy them and or a complete carby. 1 I need the screw on arm that attaches to the choke butterfal shaft and 2 the link rod that joins the above arm to the shaft from the choke mechanism. Sounds vey complicated but for anyone farmillier with these carbies it should make sense. Also the two tappered screws that fit below the choke butterfly are missing.

Im after the inner bottom section of a R/H rear door thats rust free, Not really after the skin just the rounded corner of the door from the skin fold into the inside where the door trim covers.
If anyone has one thats RUST FREE im willing to buy it. Rare spares sell the complete bottom sections but only for the front doors, there still in the process of producing the rears.

Need advise on adjusting the pivot ball,
I understand I need to get 48 mm on the fork,(http://gallery.oldho...) bell houseing face clearance ,
The clutch pedal is about 60 mm higher than brake after adjustment on the bell housing screw (the big black nut)
I discovered this AFTER installing the clutch and box etc,
I can turn adjust the pivot through inspection hole and a small screwdriver in back of bellhousing,
QUESTION: do i turn the pivot in towards engine or back towards diff to get my pedal down

HI All,
How can i stop body roll in an EH i have just had the diff shortened so the tyres fit up in the guard, So when i'm traveling in a straight line there is no scrubing.
The body touches the outside of the tyres when i travel around a sweeping bend.
Cheers Shane

Hello all
I have a 3.3 converted to straight gas. The carby is impco with the holley bottom end. The problem is the engine wont idle less than 1100rpm even with the throttle screw wound right out. If you pull the PCV out and block it off the engine stalls so I believe the engine is getting all the idle air through the PCV. If the PCV is blocked the carby can be adjusted to get the correct rpm. I have tried a new PCV and same deal. I've replaced all gaskets and gromets on rocker cover and side plates trying to reduce crank case air ingress and no fix. I gather its a problem with the carby setup any ideas appreciated

Just want to know how 'interchangable' the radiators are for WB's. I have a Kingswood 6, would a V8 radiator or a Statesman radiator fit the Rad Support Panel? What about earlier/later model radiators? I'm pretty sure the answer is 'no', but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Thanks...

Can fuel pumps give off a soft knocking noise?
when cold and for the first few k's , a soft knocking noise is present near pump,
thought it was a big end, but doesn't sound right,
then wondered if it was piston or gudgeon, but again doesn't get louder or harsher with revs,
thought it was a saddle or rocker, to high up in engine.
sounds like the pump is knocking, it isn't that old <10thou k's)
any advise ?

Can anyone tell me the best way to replace the upper steering shaft bearing in the steering column honeypot on a WB.
The cast metal in the top of the housing is folded over the bearing when it's originally installed.
If the bearing is punched out or the material is folded back it snaps and the new bearing is then a loose fit.
The most common response I have been getting so far is to buy a replacement honeypot with a decent bearing ( proving almost impossible to find ) or use chemiweld etc. to glue a new bearing in ( $110 from holden ).
If anyone has found a better solution please let me know.
Cheers.
