I got a copy today , and this would have to be the best book on any Holden i have ever seen..

IF YOU HAVE A TORANA OR INTERESTED IN THEM , YOU MUST get a copy of this book, it has everything you will ever want to know about every model of torana made and ones that never got made , it is full of color pictures of all aspects of all the toranas 4 ,6 & 8 cylinder ones,with photos from the gmh archive that have never been released before..

IF YOUR BUILDING or doing up a torana this is the book to HAVE ,IT COVERS ALL THE SPECS , OPTIONS , PAINT AND TRIM CODES with pictures, and any thing else you might need or want to know about toranas..

hey all just guna put it up here not really sure on what they are worth but i got 1 LX sunbird yes LX sunbird not UC has rust in lower beaver panel and in the doors some in cowl panel if i remember correctly rust in lower rear of front gaurds and lower rear 1/4 panels but all is repairable ill see if i can get my sister to take some pics for me as the car is located in bundaberg Qld at my parents house just tell me what u think 1 would be worth or make an offer being an lx i was looking for around 600 ish but i am negotiable is a 3 speed auto also with the factory interior in fairly good condition car looks like a champaigne gold in colour with red vinal interior.

I am looking for a coupe preferably. But will consider anything willing to spend upto $6000 as long as it has previously been registered in SA at some stage in time if u can help please contact me asap on 0405184513 thankx

have pulled the front end out of the lx and was wondering how you go about removing the springs safely?

i have used spring compressors but it doesnt look like they will fit? or am i wrong?

can someone talk me though it.

I am looking at buying new mags for my HT Premier, to replace the Centerlines i currently have fitted. Most wheels i have looked at have several sizes of backspace.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to measure what backspace i need? Or can i measure the backspace of the current wheels and that will tell me what i need?

Found myself a UC hatch to turn lx style and I would like to find an LX/LH doner sedan,only need the tailight section [rear end], and front end [inner gaurds, rad support] so the rest of the car can be rs, if anyone in Vic has one they are willing to par with [for a fee of course]pls let me know , cheers hope you all have a safe one Frank

Current set up - 308 with Mondeo thermo fans, on at 95 off at 90.

With sumnmer here my engine bay is hotuer than normal and the engine reaches high temp which causes the fans to be on more often. Therefore I have decided to go back to mechanical fan plus a single thermo in front of radiator for peace of mind.

My understanding is that a mechanical fans should be used with a shroud. However Torana V8 shrouds used for air con are not available and the HQ ones have issues with top of fan fouling the shroud.

I also want to known which fan to use,the standard fan or the clutch fan, and is a shroud needed?

Hey, just wondering if anyone has any advice on what length/height a six cylinder lx torana's springs are? I am re-building the front crossmember including steering and suspention in my LX SL (4-cyl) and I am using a donor LH/LX front end, however the previous owner didn't know if it was a V8 or a six? It had the sway-bar mounted at the rear of the crossmember and not the front so I thought it may have been a six? Any help would be appreciated because I need to "adjust" the springs to get a good stance at the front of the car. Cheers...

Have for sale a good 202 block that is standard size bore, eng number QL827XXX (plus head) also a muncie 4 speed with bell housing (was behind a 253 and then a 202) Looking for offers before hitting evilbay. AL.

Does anyone know where you can buy new stub axle castle nuts for the old holdens?
Do general auto stores sell them?

Also if anyone has a HR lowered 2 inches ...and pics in your shed can you post up a link?

I'm considering drop axles from Stubtech set up for commodore brakes.
They're pricey but I plan on lowering it (don't know how much yet) and want commodore brakes and they'll aid in both.

Alternatively is anyone selling a setup to fit commodore brakes to a HR, I think my HR has HT stubs.

where just about at the painting stage of my resto and i cant seem to decide what colour to go, im stuck between mandarin red and cotilion white. any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated and also ive done some (unsecessful) reaseach and cant seem to find out the colour or code etc for the black that they use for the bonnet and rear etc any info would be awsome

Hey, just wondering if anyone has any info on the coils in an LX Torana? Specifically, I am building a new front end to replace the front crossmember, shocks, sway-bay, coil springs and fitting HQ stub axles and brake discs. The replacement crossmemeber and suspension was off of an LH I think and I can't tell if the coil springs were for of a V8 or straight six? Since I am fitting a 202 I need the right sized coils for the job... Could anybody please let me know if they have any advise or measurments eg. coil length/height, width and compression differences. I'm selling my LX Torana. NSW rego 09.11.12. 308 but came out as a factory 253 4spd. Needs some TLC. Some minor rust, speedo has stopped, diff has a whine. Great project just don't have time to do it. $6500.00. Call George 0418694604

Hi, hope you guys can help me out with this one.
I have a 308 block and standard crank. I also have a set of A9L rods with new Chev pistons and rings fitted to them.
Will these all go together? I kind of rememeber doing a similar mod 20 or so years ago [yes I'm getting on] and all I had to do was deck the block, just cant remember how much. Any helpfull info would be appreciated.

G;day fellas im looking at buying an LX Torana to do up and have found something of interest for only a couple of grand but it is missing 2 of the id plates and the one which is remaining is the one on the passenger side of the wirewall. Is this legal? or should i be wary of buying it? Its currently unregistered but the guy tells me its just a walk in rego which could be true as we dont have roadworthys here in SA. cheers

hey all just thought these would be the easiest way... i have 2 possibly 3 cars to sell. there is 1 lx sunbird sedan with an opel motor does run but carby needs a rebuild has rust but is very fixable interior is amazing bar the passenger seat still has service book in the glove box.. if ur interested comment or something (: also have a uc Torana sedan not sunbird has a 202 motor and trimatic gearbox is pretty rusty needs a lot of work some front end damage nothing major just gaurds and nose cone as far as i can tell but pretty rusty.

Im pretty sure my vent is blocked on my th350 and would like some suggestions on unblocking it and ruffly how far in the hole should unblock it?? It is in a torana and there is not alot of clearance! ive tried a piece of hanger wire but it didnt seem to work :(
