Hay guys, I have a VN commodore with a wielded diff and love drifting everywhere when it rains. The other day I drifted off my head and lost it into a gutter. The two passenger side rims are now buckled and i need some more rims. My old man's trailer has 175X14's which he reckons are old holden rims. I measured the stud pattern and are very close to fitting. Will they fit? Because I cant handle not being out there sideways!!!!

hi guys, need some help with a tailshaft prob. picked up a v8 manual tailshaft for my vh commy which i,m runnin powerglide instead. shaft is too long needs cut down,but i ihave a vn commy shaft which i,m thinkin of joinin the front half to the back half of the manual which will be the rite meaursment. the ass end is large salisbury mini spooled with 4.44 gearin. i will be replacin all bearins an uni's too. so will this setup work i will get it balanced too after its done cheers ty

Just got this 1982 VH SL/E on the road.....nice and clean grandads car

How soft are the rims on Simmons wheels? If I get the tyre taken off would I be able to hit this dent out with a rubber mallet without cracking the aluminium? Is this a job for a wheel repairer or is a new outer rim needed?

I am looking at buying new mags for my HT Premier, to replace the Centerlines i currently have fitted. Most wheels i have looked at have several sizes of backspace.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to measure what backspace i need? Or can i measure the backspace of the current wheels and that will tell me what i need?

This is the Engine i built to go in her. Has been started, but not run in yet.

Has:
-New Rings
-New Bearings
-New Gaskets
-Alloy Timing Gears
-Tow Cam
-Welsh Plugs

Cylinder head hasnt been touched. Car used to blow smoke so I will see if the rings did it, otherwise I will get the guides done later on.

After 3 years, the car is finally looking like a car again. Have done everything ourselves on this: built not bought! Cost to this stage is proabably about 1000 dollars for the bodywork and rebuilding the engine. Time would be hours into the hundreds.

There are some small imperfections in my bodywork (little depressions and filler that isnt quite flat). But on the whole i am happy with the result (and i know what to do next time to improve).

Painted this in the shed @ home. 4 coats of 2K HO White. Now most of the work that is left is re-assembling it.

In response to the post below about turboing a starfire four, heres a pic of a country dealer team s3 commodore. Cdt were a poor cousin to hdt . They released these commodores with an airReaserch turbo'd starfire four. performance figures were a mid 16 second quarter mile and 190km/h top speed. From memory they were around the $14,000 with the body kit , wheels etc. Not my cup of tea ,but each to their own.

Hi guys, I am looking at buying a set of B45s for my commodore in either 15 or 16 inch and have noticed the 16s dont look as good as the 15s. To me it looks like the centres are the same and they get a 16 tyre to fit by using a larger rim?? or maybe they look different because the 16s have a lower profile tyre. Has anyone had experiece with Simmons wheels that could answer/confirm my thoughts? Thanks in advance guys.

Does anyone know where you can buy new stub axle castle nuts for the old holdens?
Do general auto stores sell them?

Also if anyone has a HR lowered 2 inches ...and pics in your shed can you post up a link?

I'm considering drop axles from Stubtech set up for commodore brakes.
They're pricey but I plan on lowering it (don't know how much yet) and want commodore brakes and they'll aid in both.

Alternatively is anyone selling a setup to fit commodore brakes to a HR, I think my HR has HT stubs.

Hi all, Hoping someone with more auto-lecky nouse
than meself can help.
Got a pov pack VH (SL) & has suddenly got no ignition/start lights on dash & no cranking
whatsoever, has power to ignition switch & pretty
much none to low volts at other wires at switch block when the key is turned to start. Has
had intermittant fault when cranking where theres
no action so have to bridge the starter solenoid
& positive lead with a screwdriver to start.
I've removed the immobiliser & returned wiring to
stock.
Do ya's reckon the ignition switch has finally
carked it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the old
girls in a bad way in hospital & need the VH going
again.

We have a 1999 Holden Commodare SS. The heater and the air conditioning have both stopped working. The fan still works but just blows room temperature air.

I was wondering if this is a blown fuse but can't find fuse box diagram in manual. Or is this two separate problems??

Has anyone had this problem before?
