Hi everyone,

Does anybody know what a stock red 202 in a VB commodore will rev to. My aftermarket tacho is saying i am reving it to 5grand but i didnt think a stock 202 would rev that high. I think I need to get my tacho calibrated.
Just wanted to check what a stock 202 should rev to but first.

If anyone can help it would be great.

Hi all,

Putting a few gauges in the VB today and got a bit stuck when it came to wiring the lights in the gauges. I wasnt sure which wire the headlights ran off so I tried to have a look up under the dash and i popper the headlight switch out as far as i could pull it and all i could see was grey wire after grey wire running off it. There was heeps of them.
Does anybody know what wire to wire them off? I take it its the park lights one but which wire is that?
Accodring to the gregories manual the wires for the right park lights and headlamps are a brown wire and the left are a red wire.
Am i meant to wire them off one of these?

If someone could please point me in the right direction here it would be great as i'm quite confused.

Hi all,

I need a manual pedal box and clutch cable for my celica conversion to my VB. If i get a 6cyl pedal box do i need a 6cyl clutch cable to suit? (and same if i get a V8) or doesnt it matter?

Also I do need a new spigot bush dont I?

While i've got a thread going, does anybody know a good place to get the tailshaft shortened in Parramatta-Hills area of Sydney?

Apparently I need a 6cyl clutch fork for my celica conversion to my VB.
I have been offered a VK one but just want to confirm the VB and VK ones are the same. If anyone knows could they please let me know as this is the last thing i need for the conversion.

Hi all,

I have a manual pedal box to go into my car but it didnt come with a spring on the clutch pedal, I just bought one today for it but cant workout how to fit it. lol
I have looked at several diagrams on the internet and it doesnt realy seem to make sense for an idiot like me. I understand that the spring has to sit around the pivot arm, but I cant seem to see where the 2 clips on the ends of the spring go to.

If anyone can help me out with diagrams or just explain it to me it would be great.

How soft are the rims on Simmons wheels? If I get the tyre taken off would I be able to hit this dent out with a rubber mallet without cracking the aluminium? Is this a job for a wheel repairer or is a new outer rim needed?

Just want to double check this is everything i need for my celica conversion before i order it all. I was on the phone to Dellows and this is what they told me i will need:

-Commodore bellhousing with adjustable pivot ball
-Spigot bush
-Thrust race and carrier
-Clutch plate
-Rear crossmember
-Slip yoke
-Pressure plate

I already have:
-manual pedal box
-clutch cable
-speedo cable

Could someone please let me know if thate everything i need.

I am looking at buying new mags for my HT Premier, to replace the Centerlines i currently have fitted. Most wheels i have looked at have several sizes of backspace.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to measure what backspace i need? Or can i measure the backspace of the current wheels and that will tell me what i need?

Hi all,

I have myself a problem. When trying to remove the steering wheel a little while back on the VB i snapped a bolt in half (one of the bolts for the steering wheel puller). Its not stuck IN the stering wheel and i have no idea how to get it out. I did worry about it at the time as i wasnt putting a sport steering wheel on until after rego but now I need to pull it off to change the blinker assembly.

Any ideas and help is much appreciated.

Hi guys, anyone know of a V8 disc brake diff for a VB, the 1 i have sounds like it large rocks in a washing machine. its "ted" A 3.36 is fine or even a 3.55.
Additionally, can anyone tell me if the drum and disc brake housings are the same?

Iv picked up a 1978 Vb sle commodore with a 253 and 3 speed trimattic, its white with a cream interior,

my questions are,, when i got it home my next door neighbour told me its a rear paint and interior combo? huhh! strange to me,,, but is this true? also is it a genuine SLE or a mock up? also there are different packs what pack is mine? what else can you tell me about my VB. Please help me out cheers.

So here is a few pics (see attachments) of the inside the bellhousing. Hopefully someone can help me out as i need to make sure it the right one for my car.

I need to buy a clutch kit for my celica conversion. I have found a few on ebay but am unsure of quality. Is there anywhere in sydney I could get one? And what is a good brand for them?
The ones i've been looking at on Ebay are the brand "RPM" I think from memory.....are they any good?

I've bought a pedal box and celica to commodore speedo cable so far. IS it just a clutch kit i need now?
I know I need to mod the crossmember and shorten the tailshaft but I just want to get all the parts to bolt it to the motor and drop it in for now so I can hopefully get it in before xmas.

Does anyone know where you can buy new stub axle castle nuts for the old holdens?
Do general auto stores sell them?

Also if anyone has a HR lowered 2 inches ...and pics in your shed can you post up a link?

I'm considering drop axles from Stubtech set up for commodore brakes.
They're pricey but I plan on lowering it (don't know how much yet) and want commodore brakes and they'll aid in both.

Alternatively is anyone selling a setup to fit commodore brakes to a HR, I think my HR has HT stubs.

Hi all, I've got a celica 5 speed box (well what i believe to be one) waiting to go in my VB which i bought off a mae. He said its a celica 5 speed but I dont know how to find out for sure. So today I took photos of all the numbers I could find on it. If anyone can figure it out from these numbers it would be great or if they could tell me where to go.
