i looking at a 202 to buy
the engine prefix is FL
which im sure is a bedford block
the date code is 3M9
would this be 3 december 1969
or 3 december 1979
as it has 3.3 cast in the block side

Help needed

Im fitting a weber 34adm to a 202. I've had conflicting comments on wiring the auto choke and the run on solenoid. Is it 12v ignition to both or 6-8v to choke? And what is the best place to pick up the power, is the coil ok or a no no?

any information from these numbers would be great!

also have a 179 block with numbers M221340

and 186 with numbers 186K36168

any information would be much appreciated

Hi Guys, have a question for anyone who has swapped the original carbie on a HR to a 350 holley with a cain manifold.
I have the powerglide box, what happens with the kickdown rod that goes from the original carbie, there is no place on the manifold / carbie for this to go now? Is there another setup for this?

I am putting a 202 in my hr to replace the 179hp. I have 2 rebuilt engine choices to go with. Both only standard & was wondering is the engine number any thing to go by?
(It has an aussie 4 speed & 3.36 banjo)
1st is a HL779**
2nd is a QL840***

My searches found the the

HL is LH/LX ADR27 - LX/UC ADR27A High compression manual

QL is HQ-HZ & LX High compression

Is one a better option & what does the ADR27 & ADR27A mean??

Had a problem last night where the wife was trying to come home from work and her headlights wouldn't work. Then they did work, then they didn't work. I got her to follow me home and I watched as her headlights went out then came back on and stayed on the rest of the way home. I thought it was the dimmer switch so this morning I turned them on (working) turned them off and put a brand new dimmer switch in, now they aren't working at all, unless I hold the dimmer switch on. I know this is an issue I've had before with cars and I'll be damned if I can remember what the issue was.

ok i have a question for you
i have just finished my 202 for my hr
usual stuff big cam , port work , big carb
i measured manifold vacum while setting idle mixture screws on 465 holley
while trying to achieve best manifold vacuum i put in drive and the car shook the bonnet enough to slam down onto my gauge and smashed it
but before that i did get a reading of around 6-8 Hg in drive 12-15 in nuetral
now i havent had the holley apart since i bought it so i dont know what size powervalve is in it
but if it has a 6.5 in there will be open at idle ????
im gonna buy a 3.5 and 4.5 to try and see what happens but i dont want to lean it out any when i back off and vacuum shoots up

if this is what is happening , would a vacuum pump help with this ???

hi all wanting to take a set of 5 slotters off my HR prem and put stock wheels and white wall tyres on him
looking for info on hr wheels ,are all hr wheels suited to disc
brakes or is there diffrent wheels for disc and drumb if so how do i tell if there disc or drumb.
and who sells 13' white wall tyres in Melb western subs

Well, a thorough search of all posts regarding ball joints and tie rods has left me in great doubt. Did we ever decide / agree on which brand were worthy of our money? We're talking a stock HR front end here, no lowerage, disc brakes, bags, low profile tyres, 93-inch rims, nothing.

What I'm chasing is for folks to say "yes Matt, you handsome devil. I use this brand of balljoint. Purchase, install and be happy with your larger-than-average penis size."

What's not going to help anyone are any of the following:

Hi Guys, have sourced a 350 holley and would like to know how to modify the original HR linkages to this. I have seen the other post on this. Purchase a kit from Repco?
Is there more to it? Do i need another pedal setup if so from what/ Some one suggested to me to purchase an XD cable as this has a spring for the return. I still cannot see how this would fix the linkage issue. Any help is appreciated.
Also Have two manifolds, one is a Cain and the other a Lynx.
Is there any real difference between them.

trying to do a gearbox conversion on my HR wagon from auto to a 5 speed manual , however I have hit a snag , I can't get synchros for the old supra box that I have and I have been told another way to go id the T5 falcon gearbox from the EA through ED falcon . These are considerably larger than the holden or toyota box and I was wondering if anyone has made the mod and what floor modificatoins would be needed

but money at the moment is a touch scarce , but it looks a lot neater than what i see the other box being

I am looking at buying new mags for my HT Premier, to replace the Centerlines i currently have fitted. Most wheels i have looked at have several sizes of backspace.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to measure what backspace i need? Or can i measure the backspace of the current wheels and that will tell me what i need?
