i have my tri matic in a trans shop, while its there i am either going to change to a half bellhousing or get a convertor with nuts attached, previously i had a full bellhousing with a hole cut in the bottom to do the nuts up, then you have to rotate the fly wheel again to torque the bolts before, i have no access to the front crank bolt without pulling out all the fans, radiator & crap.
options are go to a half bellhousing, get a convertor with attached nuts and use standard high tensile bolts.
or
get a half bellhousing and keep the ARP torque convertor bolts and nuts.
its a supercharged six.
i guess what i need to know is do half housings brake easy or do torque convertor bolts shear off easy when you have extra torque and power.

The all AUSSIE day at Waroona is soon approaching for the masses in the West. APRIL the 11th. Unfortunatly Mr Stokes, from Geelong, is unavailable to mark out the lines at the oval. SO Whos gunna have a go and turn up and whos gunna be a big girly girl an say its too hot ,its the Easter weekend and its too far to go...
PS. Hey emu, my Mrs came home the other day with a photo of the child that we have been sponsering in Africa for awhile. The handbrake said that this poor little bugger was always gunna be under the pump from day one because of the way he looked. But geez Emu had we known ( Check out the Photo just posted ) we would have sponsered you instead...

I have an issue that when under brakes my HRs steering wheel is shuddering left to right, the car also seems to be pulling towards one side. My thought is that it likely needs to have the rotors machined. Before sending it to a brake place though I wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts. I don't think it's wheel alignment because the car isnt showing any other symptoms or problems until it is under brakes. It's got fairly new brake pads which hopefully I ran in properly...

I have a set of very brittle and warped arm rests for my HR. (Subject of a poor ebay purchase)
I guess there is no saving them and as buying a good set would be next to impossible are there any other options except for buying Hk or HQ reproduction ones which won't look right?
By Forrestp 25/02/10@14:46

So if my armrests are brittle warped and generally look crap, what if anything can be done?
I note you can buy HK and HQ style armrests, but would much rather orignial if I can achieve it.

HI All,
How can i stop body roll in an EH i have just had the diff shortened so the tyres fit up in the guard, So when i'm traveling in a straight line there is no scrubing.
The body touches the outside of the tyres when i travel around a sweeping bend.
Cheers Shane

Hi all...
Wound down the front window on the HR this morning and the lift channel seperated from the glass, refitted it and it just comes off again. I dare say that Im not the only one this has happened to and Ive looked thru Holdenpaedia with no luck. What is the best way to keep the sucker on there?? Just got the car back on the road after a gearbox rebuild and everything seems to be sticking up from the weather. (I Have put some graphite on the baily channels to help it along...) Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Kev.

Hi all,
I have too many projects and not enough space so I am looking to either part trade (cash either way) or full trade BOTH of the following cars on a pre 78 Holden, Ford, Valiant or American that doesn't require too much work.

For info - I bought a Whiteline rear swaybar to fit in my HD panelvan. Fitted it up but it didn't hang/sit right. Went back to the supplier and we figured out after contacting whiteline that I had been sold the sedan/wagon bar.
The sedan/wagon swaybars point forward and the ends are secured under the floorpan (under the rear seat) by brackets with 3 holes each side.
The van/ute bars point rearward and the ends are attached to the upper face of the leaf spring.
Just passing this on to save anyone drilling six holes in their floorpan that they wouldn't have needed (like I did)
Heaps improved ride with it fitted btw.
