Coolant flow direction on a 202

Hi
I have a holden 202 in a Ski boat. As such it is direct seawater cooling. I want to convert it to coolant with a heat exchanger. I will need to put a thermostat back in and a simple by pass. By pass would be from the small takeoff on the waterpump to the lower thermostat housing entry points. My question is;
Does the coolant flow into the water pump and out the back of the pump where it bolts onto the block, circulate through the block, head etc and exit out of the thermostat housing?
Or

Funny how things work out

In my shed is a collection of pictures of EH and EJ's with flash kits that I have spotted either in person or online over the years. Didnt know that my next project would be one of the cars from that gallery. Not much left in the way of floors & fairly rusty, will keep me busy for a while, Keep an eye out for it travelling north over the next couple days

For EKDoug67 - EJ/EH idiot lights

Here is a quick scan uploaded from my HT Holden owners manual.

Interesting to hear from Dr Terry that hot-wiring can short out the contact in the ignition switch.

EJ idiot lights

Hi, can any EJ owners tell me if all 3 idiot lights ( gen, oil, temp ) turn on when you turn on an EJ ignition (without engine running). I've had mine off the road for a while and noticed that the temp light isn't working when ignition is on, but i've tested the temp circuit by earthing the wire at the sender and the temp bulb works fine. Also, is it the same for EH??

Steering Box Adjustment

Hi guys. Hope everyone had a good Chrissie.

I've got a bit of slack in the steering box. Can move the wheel 2.5 cm each way before the pitman arm starts to move. I've read up on the method of adjusting the box using a spring scale but have no Spring scale and can't find anyone that sells one with the right scale.

So was thinking of adjusting the sector shaft screw and the worm shaft but a quarter turn and see if it removes the play. If I mark the original positions I can always take it back where it was. What do you guys reckon?

Free Play

How much free play at the steering wheel should I be getting? Car sitting still, wheels straight ahead I have about 5cm free play before resistance is felt either way. Is this about normal or too much?

EJ Holden - Rusted out plenum chamber

Hi guys.

I was hoping to get some advice rust repairs to my EJ.

I've owned an EH in the past but had to sell it but now I've gotten my latest project (which I plan to keep) - an EJ station wagon.

All totally original with what only looked to be surface rust in the usual spots.

This was until I noticed some tiny rust spots on the glove box roof.

This turned into very large holes and also rust on the left most and right most part of the plenum chamber (under the dash) and is in need of fair bit of work.

I was hoping someone in the know would have time to give me some advise on the best way to go about the repairs.

I was thinking the cowl vent would have to be removed as it looks like the rust has started to extend up on the inside of it, but not the firewall as yet.
