i have my tri matic in a trans shop, while its there i am either going to change to a half bellhousing or get a convertor with nuts attached, previously i had a full bellhousing with a hole cut in the bottom to do the nuts up, then you have to rotate the fly wheel again to torque the bolts before, i have no access to the front crank bolt without pulling out all the fans, radiator & crap.

options are go to a half bellhousing, get a convertor with attached nuts and use standard high tensile bolts.
or
get a half bellhousing and keep the ARP torque convertor bolts and nuts.

its a supercharged six.
i guess what i need to know is do half housings brake easy or do torque convertor bolts shear off easy when you have extra torque and power.

gday all im looking at getting another car to use as a daily so i can pull the prem off the road for a tidy up. will consider almost anything but must be in vic (central vic preffered) must have rego and must be in reasonable condition. wanting to pay up to 2 grand for a suitable car, would prefer a ute and manual but anything pre wb would be great. let me know what youve got as im looking for a quick purchase.

i wolud lik to know why i cant get an 18R engine to run on fuel but we've had fuel runnig down the fuel line from a bottle and it runs,
but when we conect it to the fuel tank it wont run on fuel.
its pumping fuel but its not running on tank fuel, why?

any sugestions would be appreceated.

fuels getting all the way to the caberetor could it b old fuel???? or mabye not enough fuels getting to it?????

HI All,
How can i stop body roll in an EH i have just had the diff shortened so the tyres fit up in the guard, So when i'm traveling in a straight line there is no scrubing.
The body touches the outside of the tyres when i travel around a sweeping bend.

Can anyone tell me if there has ever been a list of Holden Interchangable parts made?

The Master parts book for models up to HR was a good start but I havn't seen a modern version?

A couple I can think of right now are;

6cyl red / blue fuel line to vac advance pipe clips same as VB - VL etc body line clips.

EGR 6cyl and 8cyl the same.

Some Torana body clips same as HK, T, G,

Most engine componets except for 73 Torana starters, alternators, engine mounts and brackets.

Starefire 4 and 6cyl rods.

Torana and Holden Door handles.

Torana and Holden bonnet release brackets.

Holden engine bay clips interchange

Torana, HR, HK HT HG mudflaps.

Torana & HR disc callipers.

LH Torana and LJ speakers,

Torana rear speaker and Statesman.

Have a Pair of wheel trims..made of anodised Aluminium...that i beleive are NASCO items...no markings...its probably just the diamond cutouts that makes me think they are NASCO.

hi there i have just put a 179 hp in my ek wagon i put a jp iol pump & i changed the sump & iol pick up to suit the hr front end ny problem is that i dont have iol pressure can anyone give me any tips on how i can prime the engine cheers

This is my Ek wagon, it as an original car. It has a full history, it has a original shell service log books and a GMH maintenance protection plan. It even has the original nasco plastic seat protectors on the rear seat. It has only had two owners since new. In the future it will be restored, as it has some minor damage

Just wondering if anyone could tell me what model badge this "special" badge is? I believe FC? Does anyone also have measurements of the badge? I need to know so I can get the sizes correct for reproducing the dealer decal as I have someone after this one.

Got my HD van on the road mid Dec 09. Took it to Bribie week before Xmas and my darling remodeled the front (stone tray, bumper, grille, hood, radiator...) so spent last week of my holiday repairing it, with the help of my great panelbeating bro!
Turned out beaut I think, even kept the girlfriend!

With some past discussion here on the cost of restoration and some very differing opinions and facts - what are your thoughts on what a resto should cost? What should be involved?

1. What do you consider a restoration?
2. How far is too far OR is it ever far enough? Can the average old Holden be restored for what cost and why/how?
3. Should every item or system in a car be given the once over or should it be left alone 'if it looks OK'?
4. What do you think you could restore your car for? -(Be realistic and take into account EVERYTHING you have to spend.)
5. Would you think the following statement is true or false- "I'm gunna save myself lots of money by dragging this project out over the next 10 years." (Explain why its true or false)

I'm chasing a EK Holden steering wheel ring. The chrome centre for the horn. I've been bidding for them on eBay, but people are asking unreasonable amounts of money. I want one in A1 condition, but I'm not prepared to re-finance my house to buy one.

Putting the feelers out in case someone knows of one sitting in some old guy's backyard and has been there or the last 20 years.

Not after anything glamourous... This will be a project and will be restricted in terms of finances (so the missus reckons)
Willing to fork out more if it's an EK, a Special or a factory Automatic (bigger trans tunnel). No worries if the engine's stuffed or missing.

Any leads to the right candidate will be well rewarded.
