HT Factory Workshop Manual
By norton58 31/01/12@15:53 ShedI've been looking for a while and there doesn't seem to be a huge number of factory workshop manuals for HK-T-Gs floating around. Are they particularly hard to find? Better yet, has anybody got one they want out of?

Head lights issue.
By HRDan 02/01/12@22:21Hey guys, Happy New Year!
I've been having some head light troubles and had two questions.
Firstly, would a small amount of wear on a wire such that you can see exposed wire be enough to cause the head lights to cut out intermittently? I have taken some photos and attached them to this post (apologies for the quality).
Secondly, I cannot remove the frayed wire from the head light switch box without using what I consider excessive force to fix it, is there a trick that I'm missing?
cheers, Dan.
HT wagon price
By a Holden Fan o.O 30/12/11@18:42Hi. I am looking at buying a HT kingswood station wagon. 161 3 speed manual. Registered with RWC. No rust, but paint job very ordinary. Any idea on price range, as owner wants offers? Thanks.
HR Light Switch
By HRDan 26/12/11@11:37Hey guys,
First off merry christmas, I hope you guys got all of the new carbs and whitewalls you asked for.
Down to business, I have had some headlight issues, namely that they flicker on an off while driving at night and have been under the dash all morning identifying a culprit which is a wire in poor condition.
My issue is that I do not know how to properly remove the light switch from the dash, unlike the wiper switch which has a screw and the choke which pulls out there is no indication of how the switch can be removed so that I can work on it.
Also it seems that the blade connectors are stuck, is there a trick or are they just rusted in?
Cheers guys
Brake Issues
By HRDan 02/12/11@11:40Hello,
While driving around yesterday I noticed that the car was a little sluggish and after a 20 minute drive had diagnosed the issue as the brakes being stuck on a little.
On the was home the issue resolved itself and then returned worse. When attempting to change to second gear the car would initially behave when the clutch was pushed in however the brakes would then come on very strong while still having no contact with the brake pedal.
As this issue has come and go when I got home I attempted to establish which wheel/s were the problem and was unable to.
The brake fluid level in one of my containers has raised.
I am running a dual braking system with original drums at the rear and HQ discs on the front with HG calipers.
Any help would be appreciated, Dan.

HK Kingswood Seat Re-Trim
By a Holden Fan o.O 31/10/11@14:26Am looking at getting the front and back bench of my HK Kingswood retrimmed. There will probably be a few springs that need to be repaired and the mounts could do with a bit of a clean. Wanting them redone in the original black and matching the original Kingswood pattern.
Recently spoke to Eastern Auto Upholstery in Melbourne who own a lot of ex-holden gear but only really work with Monaro interiors and supply the vinyl kits that then need to be fitted by someone else.
Has anyone in Melbourne had any experience with a re-trimmer that they could recommend?
Thanks
161 fuel economy - not
By feguzzi750 18/10/11@22:09 Shed LetsCruise 3136Guys, just looking for ideas. My 161 in the HG is giving me lousy fuel economy - about 20 MPG no matter whether it is around town or on highway. It is a standard motor with extractors thats all.
Any suggestions on what to look at as it is getting pretty pricey to run - it is being used every day at the moment.
Thanks -

By Mylitoss71 08/09/11@20:00 LetsCruise 4715Hi Guys, new member to old holden so I hope I get this right. I was wondering if anyone new whether a holden 6 3 speed box linkage set up is the same as the V8. Basically I'm converting from a 161 3 speed to a 253 3 speed but don't have any of the V8 box parts. Thanks....
HR Ute For Sale
By hr-hearse 23/08/11@12:14 Shed LetsCruise 5290It has 96 000 miles on it, 161 engine has been rebuilt and runs beautifully, great brakes (nearly put me through the windscreen, lol) body is fair for its age. It has rust in the front guards and doors but would be repairable. Beige in colour. The rear of the ute is in great condition and hasnt been knocked about. The seat needs some repairs to it. Crash pad needs to be redone. New front section of exhaust and muffler.
Would make a good restorer and is located in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Price is best offer.
Phone John 0417851435
I am not associated with the ute but thought someone here might be interested.
HD standard - how common?
By JollyGreenSlugg 29/06/11@10:49 LetsCruise 2663G'day folks,
Talking cars elsewhere, it seems that the 'poverty pack' versions of cars don't seem to be particularly common except for commercials or fleet use.
My recently-acquired HD wagon is a standard, without chrome trim, badging or armrests. No doubt there are other things it doesn't have!
How common were these back then, and has anyone seen such vehicles around these days? I'm going to restore mine to the same condition as I doubt that there are too many getting around now. We've all seen plenty of top-end spec cars at shows and around, I'm wondering whether there are people who've restored bottom-end spec cars.
My HG is also a 'povvo pack' Belmont, and it'll do me!
Cheers,
Matt
Diff Conversion Specialists in Sydney, Canberra, Wollongong ?
By cxxl 20/06/11@21:58I need to arrange a modified DIFF with HQ stud pattern for my HR. Can anyone suggest specialists in Sydney/Wollongong/Canberra? Most likely a Borg-Warner Commodore diff, shortened and re-studded to HQ (matches my front end). Cheers, Chris.
