picked this brochure box up some years back , how many of these exist its full of "this is a ok used car tags -see pic ? cheers !!

gday all im looking at getting another car to use as a daily so i can pull the prem off the road for a tidy up. will consider almost anything but must be in vic (central vic preffered) must have rego and must be in reasonable condition. wanting to pay up to 2 grand for a suitable car, would prefer a ute and manual but anything pre wb would be great. let me know what youve got as im looking for a quick purchase.

Can anyone give me the heads up on mounting tail fin's.
I am not sure about the way the holes need to be.... to accommodate the hooked/lugs that mount the unit to the panels...
Do the holes need to be elongated or are there meant to be some sort of grommets to hold in place...
I am confused and would prefer some words of wisdom before drilling 16 holes.

How can i stop body roll in an EH i have just had the diff shortened so the tyres fit up in the guard, So when i'm traveling in a straight line there is no scrubing.
The body touches the outside of the tyres when i travel around a sweeping bend.

Can anyone tell me if there has ever been a list of Holden Interchangable parts made?

The Master parts book for models up to HR was a good start but I havn't seen a modern version?

A couple I can think of right now are;

6cyl red / blue fuel line to vac advance pipe clips same as VB - VL etc body line clips.

EGR 6cyl and 8cyl the same.

Some Torana body clips same as HK, T, G,

Most engine componets except for 73 Torana starters, alternators, engine mounts and brackets.

Starefire 4 and 6cyl rods.

Torana and Holden Door handles.

Torana and Holden bonnet release brackets.

Holden engine bay clips interchange

Torana, HR, HK HT HG mudflaps.

Torana & HR disc callipers.

LH Torana and LJ speakers,

Torana rear speaker and Statesman.

I can currently do many old style rego labels. All reproduced with your car details etc. But I'm missing a few. Including QLD and ACT.

Can anyone give me suggestions where I could pick up some holden mag rims (set 4) for my FX. I am aware of the unique (pain in the bum) FX/FJ stud pattern, yet still wish to keep the original drum brake system intact.

I have tried Ebay and numerous wreckers around the south east Queensland areas with no success , thus I am now ready to broaden my horizon's....

So can my fellow holden comrade's please aim me in the right direction as I am not familiar with interstate wreckers or the like.

have been trying to adjust external door handle on my fx sedan.problem is that i have to turn the handle down all the way(almost hitting on door skin)before door latch releases.cant see how to take outer handle off if this is required. thanks in advance

Can anyone spare some words of wisdom as to which other holden series other than FJ stud pattern will fit onto my FX ?.....
I have standard 15" wheels at present and wish to have some sort of mags, preferably old school which can hold my FX hubcaps if possible.
I have checked through Holdenpaedia but cannot seem to find what I am looking for.

Does anyone know of where I could possibly chase up a template for making a set of sill panels for my FX. Unfortunately when she got pulled out of the swamp it was residing in theres not enough sill left to even guess at what shape they used to be...

Just wondering if anyone could tell me what model badge this "special" badge is? I believe FC? Does anyone also have measurements of the badge? I need to know so I can get the sizes correct for reproducing the dealer decal as I have someone after this one.

im running original fuel tank/sender and gauge in my fx.while driving the gauge needle bounces around like a swing.can this be fixed or is this normal

since the publication of the "FX Prototype" on out site I have been doing some research on the matter.
Fact: there is some conjecture as to the exact number of prototypes originaly built
A.C. Bushby in his publication the Holden Collection states that THREE (3) were built
The Australian Encyclopedia originally published in 1951 & re-printed in 1954 states that 4 prototypes were tested here in Australia.
Fact: regardless of whether or not there was three or four cars they were built in the USA not Australia.
Fact: The cars were tested in Australia very rigorously on a special testing track most were tested to 50,000 miles however one was run for 79,129 miles. Under the conditions it was like ordinary every day driving to 216,516 miles.

It may be another GMH plant but was definately 1954.

What paint do you guys use for painting leaf springs, diff etc? its just a tidy/cleanup at the moment, until a full restore later. dos the normal black paint in spray can from hardware store last?

second question, on our fj special., we painted underneath the floor (roadside) in the cars body colour. we now want to paint on a "tar anti-noise" stuff. do we need to strip the paint back off? its enamel

Hi all, looking for an external sunvisor for the "J" During a nice quiet run in the country the wind decided to separate the visor from the windscreen, by the time the visor stopped bouncing on the bitumen it had demolished itself. Wanted...one very good sun visor that is not ROOF mounted. Prefer in Melb or close to it. AL. 0409 135900.

With some past discussion here on the cost of restoration and some very differing opinions and facts - what are your thoughts on what a resto should cost? What should be involved?

1. What do you consider a restoration?
2. How far is too far OR is it ever far enough? Can the average old Holden be restored for what cost and why/how?
3. Should every item or system in a car be given the once over or should it be left alone 'if it looks OK'?
4. What do you think you could restore your car for? -(Be realistic and take into account EVERYTHING you have to spend.)

has anyone changed door lock on fx sedan.mine is original and i dont feel very secure paking it anywhere,even though i have kill switch and good steering lock.any info would be greatly appreciated.thamks in advance
