Hey i have a 4 door LJ TORANA and recently bought a rare spares door rubber kit just wondering how ur suppose to get it back into that lil groove around the whole door doesnt seem to want to stay in there.. is there are a special tool or something?

I have a 1971 HQ sedan for sale. It is in a shed at my fathers property not far from Tannum Sands in central Qld. It has not been started for almost 6 years however everything was in perfect running order then. Engine is a 186 which was fully rebuilt aprox 20,000 km prior to being parked up. 3 speed auto box was a rebuilt exchange unit at the same time. Body is in very good condition apart from a few small rust spots and a small dent in the nose cone where I hit a roo, (twin headlight premier nose cone) I now live in Vic and my Dad is selling the property so I have to get rid of the old girl and don't have the time to get up there, however I can arrange a time for you to inspect. HI All, can anyone help, yesterday driving my 66 HR, after about 30 mins i noticed a smell coming from the engine. it almost smelt like sewage or sulfur [rotten eggs].

I have no idea what has caused it and then this morning the car would not start. Has something burnt out??? my first thought was maybe something to do with old water in the radiator??

any help is appreciated

I have a little trailer with what I'm told are Holden wheels on it.

14" wheels. I've only got two. I need a spare. But I can't find one.

Nothing fits. I must have exactly the right thing because the axle is so short there's no leeway. A fatter tyre will rub against the body. Wheels with a greater 'throw' towards the body will rub against the body.

Here's the dimensions of the existing wheels:

The bolt holes are half inch.

There are five of them.

There are 2.25inches between centres. Or 1.75inches from one side of one bolt hole to the nearest side of the next.

Okay, I have a HJ premier, which i have taken the 6cyl auto out of, dropped in a 308 and a HZ M21, with the pull type clutch. So far so gone alright, only a few dozen little problems. I have examined the firewall and found the spot where the clutch push rod should go through (for a hq- hz push type clutch), and drilled through that, then put in the HZ clutch pedal and found its about 3 inches lower than where it obviously should be. But i wanted to know if anyone would have a clue where
a. I do need to drill
b. Is there a bracket inside the cabin that holds the cable and not just the firewall?

Also anyone had any dramas with solex locks? Drivers and boot went in perfect, but the passanger seemed sloppy.

If anyone could assist it would be very much appreciated.

I need a pair of HK-T-G V8 stock front springs ASAP so I can get some more work done on the HR I dont need new ones after second hand ones as they have a bit of give in them.

Hi All,

I'm getting oil fumes in cabin from new motor.

Going through pipes connecting to inlet manifold ie pcv, booster pipe.

Did the old suck on pipe thing to check operation.

The pcv seals and opens on que ok

The Booster: I can draw air through, should this be fully sealed ie get to a certain pressure and then stop or for some reason do boosters have a certain air draw through.

Hey guys i was just wondering if it would be worth paying to get the 253 a freshen up. Not really sure what it would need so we will just say a full rebuild for now.

How much do you think i would be looking at, please dont say call around becuase i wouldnt have a clue what price figures here.

I would want it drive in drive out.

Should i just keep going the 253 as is until she lets go?

Should i scrap the 253 and go a commy v6 :( ...i know it would be the smarter move but i would hate to see it go.

And before anyone says go get a 308 and use it as a boat anchor, i like the 253 it has enough power for me, its not a race car. And as far as i know (have been told) its the biggest engine you can get licensed in the car.

I have a factory 308 4 speed WB ute for sale at the moment, it is on dual fuel, "rebel" style mags, good tyres etc, located in western vic, runs well, bucket seats etc. In good order,minimal rust, inside tray is mint. sell un reg.

hey fella's.just a quick question my aunty has a 1972 hq 4 door gts monaro sitting in a shed its all original but in bits ready for a new paint job,was my cousins car befor he joined the army in 1975 he left the car in a mates shed and never came back for it,hes mate ended up giving it back to my aunty and she now has it stored in her next door neighbors shed.the old bloke who lives there offered to do it up for her and spent alot of time getting it ready for paint he now has athritis in his hands.shes thinking of selling it.so its a 253 four speed the motor is pretty worked,apparntly from factory? anyways this became a big story hahaha,what do you boys think it is worth?

Just wondering. Went to turn me old premier over. I had accessories light come up but no kick. Checked the plug wires etc. My guess is the coil has sh*t itself. How do i test it? Or have i drawn conclusion to early. Please help. Me Premier is a daily driver.

Myself and my friend recently rebuilt my 202 black motor and we had a decent crow cam sittin round (35603) so we threw that guy in but in the fitting notes it states that it needs computer modifications which makes sense, but there is no straight foward solution to my problem :P ive looked around at things people have done to their 202's and one of the options i read about was an XF/XE ecu and TB and another was a Delco 808 ecu and a VN TB which sounds alright if i were to invest in a Kalmaker setup but the ignition is still oldskool dizzy i was wondering if i got the CAS from the EST version of the 202, all the necessary sensors and be running a coil pack and have all of this controlled by the Delco 808 remapped does anyone have any opinions or advice to offer me?

I have a HR im going to be stripping very soon, its a complete car, lived in country NSW its ENTIRE LIFE (it was owned by a relative so i know the entire history of the car). So in saying so everything is for sale if anyone needs anything, i already have some parts sold but most of it is there.

hi, just wondering how much a hb torana would be worth??? it is a four door sl and has a four cylinder motor, it drives but is unregisted, paint is badly faded and has a bit of rust, interior is a bit shabby and tyres are bald, it hasn't been driven on the road for about 3 years, just been sitting in back yard, it's my mates car and he's considering selling it, just don't know what there worth?? any help would be good

Hey guys, I had my WB ute stripped down to the point where I could lift the cab off the chassis but then found that I need to move the car about 5km to another shed. Now I put the battery in, pluged the wiring harness back in to the engine and steering collum but it wont start, it's just dead. Is there a park sensor or some thing that I need to reconnect?

hi all, its been a long time since i've been to oldholden.com but here i am with a question. after 2 years of searching, i've finally found a suitable rolling shell for my hj sandman project. i've started stripping the paint with a 3M fiberglass wire wheel type contraption a got from bunnings(and my drill of course). its tedious and time consuming and i'm not entirely sure i'm using the most efficient apparatus for the job. i want to do it myself(not bead/sand/soda blast) to save money so my question is, whats the best way to bare metal a vehicle by hand?

g'day anyone chasing any hq parts my mate has a hq ute out in the back paddock and he didnt even know its was there or what it was anyway its pretty well rusted out so we are going to strip what is left the list so far
