Hot 173, is there such a thing?

I currently own a vc comm with the 173motor in it, the car is in near mint condition and I wood like to hot up the engine, not go balistic, just a little more poke, cruiser style... My old man, a mechanic of many years does nothing but bag the SH!t out of the 202 engine, in carburator and efi form (blue and black) is there sum truth in his madness, and how do I got bout getting more pwr from the 173. i hear that the crank from the 202 is lighter than the 173 and can be interchanged... More help needed Yall...

any help, much appreciated - Blade

EH sedan new rear screens spot on

New EH rear screens have arrived.

The EH Club Vic has been glad to help David Ryan get this venture off the ground.
I have had one fitted to my sedan and they are crystal clear - new no scratches.
There was no trouble fitting the screen with a new Rare Spare rubber also.
The hardest bit was getting the little corner moulds on.
Put your order in now from Dave Ryan.
They are not available through Rare Spares outlets.

They are $250.00 and available in clear or tinted. EH Club Vic Members get a discount price.

VK EFI Wiring

*** Thanks to the Top Lads who put up the Bedford topic line, THANKS ***

Now can any one help me wire up the EFI engine harnes into my Van, I relise that I have ti power it from the BATT via a relay and some wires have to go to the coil and fuel pump... However My Manual has no detail of the EFI side of the wiring.... So Far I have the Engine harnes separated from the rest of the VKs harness... about 30cm back from the computer connector there is another plug with 7 wires... (clockwise from top, Car end of plug) 1 Thin Purple, 2 Thick White, 3 Medium Purple, 4 Thick Black, 5 Medium Grey, 6 Medium Pink and 7 Thin Brown...
Any insight into this would be of great help cuz I am flying blind...
Let me know if there are anymore wires that would need to go places that you know of other than what is on that plug....
Thanks for all your help, Croppy......
PS. Thanks also to sammy for his help so far.. '

EH to HR front end

I have managed to grab a cheap HR front end with LH Torana disks fitted. I need to know a workshop in Melb. that can do a professional job of fitting the unit. Also, is the stud pattern different between the original EH and the LH? I have buy mags anyway, but if they are I should look at changing the disk at the rear? If so, to what?

legal brake setup

If an HR front end disc conversion has been done to an EJ and all I have is one cylinder going to the front and cable for the back, what options are there for a more legal setup. I dont like the idea of brakes going totally...

New reproductiuon EH sedan rear windscreens

Subject: EH Sedan Rear Screens now available!!!!!!

EH Holden Car Club of Victoria Inc.

Hello Holden lovers,

Last night, Monday 28th at the EH Holden Car Club of Vic monthly meeting David Ryan from Rare Spares turned up with 2 brand new remanufactured EH Sedan rear screens.

Believe me when I say they looked fantastic.

No more looking in your rear view mirror at a scratched glass.

Trial fits have been done and production has started.

David brought along 1 clear glass and 1 tinted glass. Not tinted as in dark tinted but tinted as in the green uv tint that is standard in new cars. If you wish for a tint to match your tinted side glass it can be organised. The demister side of this project has not yet been set up although as soon as David has a few orders of the ready available screens and can recoupe some of the costs so far he will start design work.

As some of you will be aware it costs around the $3000 dollar mark for moulds to be cast to produce a windscreen.

What we need now is orders.

They are $225 each of which $10 will be donated back to your club and only available through David Ryan not at Rare spares outlets. (although I am sure the counter staff are aware of them and will be happy to oblige if you ask)

David can be contacted at Rare Spares (RSP Australia) in Melbourne on:
Telephone: (03) 9305-4000 Facsimile: (03) 9305-3520
20-22 Truck City Drive, Campbellfield VIC 3061
or via dryan@rarespares.net.au

David has personally put his own money into this venture and does need to recover it, so lets try and push them for him so we can get the demister model up and running and to prove to him that it was a viable option. Your help in this area would be much appreciated. Lets face it, no rear glass is made for any other model of early Holden. The EH is the chosen one!!

If you have any questions or concerns please don hesitate to contact David or myself. Keno 0417 186 078.

Lets get the ball rolling.

Thanks

Keno (secretary EH Holden Car Club Vic.)
