Holly 425 , Redline 2 Torquer Manidfold

I have a VH with a blue 202 reconditioned and i have picked up a holly 425 and a redline 2 torquer manifold ported and polished and i was wondering if any1 would have an idea how much power and torque that would give me, roughly of course.

what transmission is that?

Hi all,
I bought an HX premier bout 3 months ago and was interested to know if there was a simple way to find out what transmission was in it (ie.looking underneath for a plate or something)

HQ-WB sill panel

Hey guys I'm just wondering, is the sill panel on a WB panel van removable, or is it welded in? Mine has some chronic rust in it and isn't really fixable, so I want to put a new panel in. Can it be done? Cheers.

Converting a 253 to PULP

Hey all! Ok.. i have a 1973 HQ with a 253 and im pretty sure its a blown head gasket.. because when i tramp it.. it stalls.. AND im loosing coolant so i kinda put 2 and 2 together :P

my problem is that if im going to change the head gasket, while im at it i thought why not change the heads??

and i just read the post about them getting rid of LRP so getting new heads was a great idea i reckon anyways :P

window rubbers

changing the rubbers in the windscreen on the EH and dont have a clue on how to pull the whole thing out?? like how to get the chrome edges off?? anyone done it before

polishing teeth

G'day fellas

Just became the proud owner of a 74 HQ Premier a few weeks ago. This is my first car (having a streetbike before now) and I'm still getting used to driving with a 30 yr old 4 speed box, being used to the 5 spd on my folks subaru (piece of crap). I've had a couple of jams, and after getting stuck between 1st and reverse at the petrol station I had to knife it out of lock with a screwdiver.

HQ GTS Monaro

Hey guys...

After looking for about 2 years I finally bought my car. I am the proud 3rd owner and the car is a gem. The 253 in it is the orginal motor, it runs ok but is a bit tired. The door rubbers are shot on both doors and if I was to do that I would also go around the quarter windows. Has anyone had similar work done to there holden ? If so how much did it cost and where did you get it done ( I am in the Sydney area so it would hav eto be around there )I would give it a go myself but am too scared I'd scratch or break something. Also I would like to put in a mild cam and do some engine work, would anyone be able to tell me what would be the best thing to do and what sort of bucks would it set me back...

VH SLE BLUE 202

I got a VH SLE with a rebulit blue 202 with full accessories. I have pulled the engine out to give the car a full bare metal re spray (any tips on this method of painting would be much appreciated) and I just want to know what I should do to the engine while it out of the car and on an engine stand to give it more performance and keep it running smoothly. It also has a reco Holley 350, extractors and a 2.5' exhaust. It has a chrome rocker cover which appears to have leaked some oil and the tranny is leaking too. Any suggestion and or hints as to how i would do this would be much appreciated as i want it all to be perfect. What should i use to clean the oil that has leaked on to the block with??

EK Vanity

You may have noticed the new poll I have posted . I have bought for the princely sum of $300 a EK Van that is in remarkably good condition. Miniumum rust and is complete.
The plan is to make it windowless again and have already been offered another roof for free. (condition of donor roof still unknown -believed to be good)
The dilema I am faced with is which style to do this resto to. I am leaning towards a repower with a 186 and retain the original three speed. This will give the appearance of stock standard and retains the floor originality. Which means I can use one of those original rubber mats.

I was wondering, is it possible to put headers, extractors and supercharge my 179, but still keep it 3 on the tree?? if not, would it be easier to go 4 floor, or change to auto??

question for Streetneat

A question for Streetneat and or other professional spray painters.

I am restoring an HZ tonner. I have all the body panels removed as well as the cab removed from the chassis. I intend to get the body painted "hothouse green" and am looking to reduce the cost of the paint job as much as possible, while still getting as good a finish as possible.

My idea is to fix up the rust repairs as needed myself by mig welding metal plates where needed. Most of these are in places not seen so I am not really concerned with an "as new" smooth finish. I dont mind seeing weld marks on the floor panel and inside door panels etc.

starfirer motor

If i were to change my vh engine (starfire) and changed it to a 202 black (vk) would i have to change the bellhousing? The transmission is an old stock 4 speed. If you do have to change bellhousing could you please tell me what to change it to and how much it may cost.

Bad Vibrations

Heya
I had some serious vibration issues with the VK, its got a 5spd Borg Warner, i got the whole shaft and unis fixed and balanced, the centre bearing and the front uni and yoke were dead, so i got those changed as well
I still have serious vibrations at anything over 60, im guessing this would be because the bearings on the front of the gearbox are stuffed, it might also explain why the front uni and center bearing were stuffed, if so, is it just a matter of changing these bearings, or do i have to do a full rebuild?

202 mods

G'day all,

I have a red 202 and I was told by "a wise man" to get the head flowed to increase give it a smidgeon more power. Okay, I was just wondering if anyone could give me a rough price for this and how effective would it be. I was told by about $100 to get it flowed and then add on another $130 for a new cam- sound about right? (would it be worth spending extra dosh on the cam?)Are there any other costs at all or probs in doing this that any1 knows of? My 202 already has a decent amount of power- 350 holley, extractors, 2.5" exhaust. What do all you's think- would this be money well spent (and give engine more grunt)? or not to bother?
