Hi,
The first thing I would check is the fuel mixture. It sounds like you may have too rich a mixture. With a cold motor, this could affect start-up. When the motor is warm, the excess fuel is more easily burnt and does not cause stalling. The load you place on the cold motor at start-up may be causing it to stall. Look for the simplest thing (such as correct fuel mixture) before searching for more complex explanations. Good luck.
