hr subframe repairs

Still cutting rust out of my HR ute project.
Now moving onto the front subframe.

The outer legs on both sides are rusted up from where it bolts under the car to a length of about 350mm.

Looking at the subframe repair sections they will not be long enough to get rid of the rusted sections.

Not sure how these repair sections fit either, looking at them online from rare spares it seems they butt weld on only?

Anyone done this repair?

Dont suppose anyone in the Brissie area has a subframe without rust?

firstly the best way to do this is while its still in the car, cut the bad section out and get the new section from rares, bolt the new bit in line it up and if your lucky it'll be enough, if its to short... measure up the section and get it folded into two c channels, now get some flat that is the width of the section (these are two peices folded together and spot welded) So when you put the two c channels either side of the flat it will give you the same profile of the rares piece, this how I did ek subframe once.

I should have some pics of it some where if you want, just email me and I'll find them :/ and send them to you. its not that hard. or ignore this and ask streetneat (lol)
