Question for Andrew /STREETNEAT

Gidday Andrew,
I was going through the build of your ute today so I can get an idea of what you did with your rear wheel set-up.
I am getting a nine inch built and the fella has asked me to provide what wheels and tyres I want, so I thought I'd update from the 14x7 Hustlers and go to 15inch rims. I read that you have 15x8 Welds on the rear with a 3 1/2 inch backspace and a 26inch tyre. Does this wheel/tyre combo interfere with any bodywork or have you massaged the tubbs? (I didn't find any reference to you tubbing the ute or how much you lowered it)
Are your brakes standard HK drums?
Also as I have a standard lenth 10 bolt diff at the moment and would like to retain this for long trips, but use the same wheels (there are 4.55 gears in the 9inch) is your 9 inch standard length? I read that it is shortened 4 inches but don't know from what starting point.
Apologies for all the Q's but I have never chosen diffs or wheels/tyres before.
Bloody nice ute by the way.
Cheers mate
Al

if my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 mph your gunna see some serious s#*t

G'day mate,
Yeah man if you could measure the diff that'd great thanks. The bloke who is making the diff reckons that a 255 tyre could fit in the existing tub. He too recommends a 31 spline axle over the 28 centre I already have.
Thanks heaps for the feedback it helps to figure out what to choose.
By the way is your munro a yellow HG
Cheers
Al.

G'day mate,
I was wondering about whether an 8.5inch wheel would fit, that's good news.
Goin on a cruise or to the drags might be in order with you blokes once the pano is up and running.
Cheers man

My 9" is "[http://gallery.oldho...|1.5 inches shoter each side]", runs HQ brakes.
Previous owner had it in a HK prem with 8x15 rims with 4" backspace. He ran 255/?/15 tyres and had minor rubbing issues on the inside occasionally.... well i think that's what i was told, lol.
I got some "[http://gallery.oldho...|8x15 wheels with 4" backspace]" made but decided i will get another set done with less backspace again but i'll figure how much when i have some tyres.
My "[http://gallery.oldho...|wheel arches are de-lipped]" too

I won't be ordering wheels for a bit so don't worry bout the time taken.
That sounds about right from what you said in an earlier post,
Cheers for taking the time to measure it up for me
