2bbl weber 34 adm wanting to fit a 253

hi all. am wanting to fit a weber 34 adm the ones that came off ford xe, xf carby to fit a 253. the problem is the 253 is a split plan manifold and the carby will only feed one side of the engine. a single plan manifold is not much use to me as i need to keep low rpm toque!!!.was thinking of using a 4 bbl split plan manifold and have the weber primary in beteen the 4bbl manifold 2 primary inlets and cut sum of the center of the b4 bbl manifold so it feeds both sides of the split plan 4bbl manifold and do the same on the secondarys. so has any one made a adapator plate to suit this. any one got any better idears. john

Webbered 253

Now this is something I have pondered myself....without a solid answer!. I did wonder if you could rotate the carby 1/4 of a turn. I think your 4bbl manifold idea mite work....but height maybe a drama. Also if you fit a 4bll manifold you may as well fit the Q-jet to go with it :)
Good idea but.......

yes q-jet is a good carby but dear to buy. and am thinking the weber would do better on fuel. my old hq is just a workhorse and fule cost is killing me. am not sure what your train of thought is on turn the weber 1/4 turn

1/4 turn Webber

Well...what I was thinking was using the 2bbl manifold. With the carby rotated it would feed both sides of the manifold. You would need to Tig. weld and gring to make this work.....so maybe not.
Also check the post below...I seem to recal LMH did do a conversion to a Webber on a 253.

i was also thinking of useing the 2bbl manifold but have a 3 inch mixing chamber in beteen the carby and manifold so its a mixing chamber and a adaptor plate all in one. the 3 inch should give it time to have a even mix when it get to the manifold. but the down side is cut hole in bonet the make room for air cleaner then have a a9x bonet scoop. buts thats a last resort

34ADM on 253

im pretty sure a bloke here LOVEMYHOLDEN has done just that. i recall he was happy with the results.

try a search??
