some silly questions

Hey everyone. finishing the last steps of puting my engine back together today and i have hit 2 walls.

Firstly I need to reattach my dipstick and its holder, have found the sump hole but i cant see or feel where the hole is for the bracket to screw into. this might be hard to get a picture of so any verbal directions might help? it seems stupid but i just couldnt work out where the little bracket attatches to the block.

Secondly i have just found out that i stupidly ditched my sump plug when i ditched my old oil... im sure im not the first to do this. i droped it in the bucket when taking it out and forgot to grab it out. wheres my best bet to get another one? wreckers or can i just get any bolt the same size.

Cheers guys hope everyones had a good dads day

John

from memory the v8 dipstick

from memory the v8 dipstick bolts to the back of the motor, where the bellhousing bolts to

the sump plugs were aviable new, try to get 1 with a magnetic, or glue a magnet onto the end of the new plug, it attracts little bits of metal shavings that are floating in the sump
