big block tonner

I spent yesterday fitting the 454 into my one tonner.I
can't believe how well it fits in the engine bay.Next
week it goes back to the panel shop and i'll get back to work on the WB van.

454

Yes! They do fit very well!! A mate of mine has a 454 big block in his HQ tonner as well, large port heads, turbo 400, disc rear end 9".

Yes! Goes like a scalded cat!

Very nice, I particularly like the belt drive setup. I wish someone would start making these for 253-308..

Drive belt

The last of the 304's did have a serpentine belt. I can't remember what it drove but it still retained one of the standard v belts for either the ac or power steering.

The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter.

VT belt

You're right. They ran both a mutlirib belt and standard V belt. From memory the V belt ran the power steering. I want a setup with one 6 or 7 rib belt and nice polished alloy brackets and pullies. something like Billet Specialties or March make in the USofA..

looks nice, man, my old mans

looks nice, man, my old mans got a hj monaro sedan with a 454 registered in vic, love it, legal and damn fast, had a 496 in my hq but never was engineered, still drove it around though. easy to work on, and easy power, enjoy :)

sweet

clearance is the same or slightly better than the small
block I had in it before thanks to the extractors.
