g'day mate, my brother brought one brand new, it was a 750cc i'm pretty sure it was in 2002, he loved it, he said it was very good on long trips, he rode it from ballarat to port pirrie (past adelaide) without stopping, so they must be pretty comfortable to ride, he only sold it due to financial problems, the re-sale price (it was 4 years old) was qiute good too
he did cop a bit of sh1t of a guy he worked with though, he owned a harley, and he used to call it a poor mans harley
Will stick with my Harley myself but my mum had a Virago some time back and she had a great run out of it, never let her down and resale was very good too. I do believe bits for them were dearer (She dropped it once on a bend and the key went into her leg behind her shin bone) than for the Harley she got next(lots more people making bits for them) but I guess that doesn't matter unless something goes wrong. From people I know that have had them they seem quite reliable and comfortable to ride, so if you like em I've heard no bad reports, except for the pegs hitting on hard cornering, so go for it.
I've got a 1100 VStar
Fantastic, with quality noisy pipes
The Virago's are the girl's model, so I was told when thinking about getting one
And yep, you can't corner too hard or you run on the footrest, but it's a cruiser
Just enjoy!!!
i been looking them up on you-tube, they look good, but sound crap
even with aftermarket exhausts, they sound like a cat being dragged over a bbq
Side note, i took the pipes of my 4cly suzuki, and it sounded even more crap then the virago
