hi fellow holdenites..i just bought a pretty sweet hx...and im getting it ready for a roadworthy..yuck!..im trying to replace the upper bearing in the steering column....did it once on an ht...and it was a piece of piss...but i cant figure out how to get the bearing out of the outer cassing..it comes off the shaft easy enough...if anyone can help id be stoked...and youll help save whats left of my hair..thanks...

Going from memorey you need to remove the circlip on the shaft, remove the spring, remove the ignition barrel and remove the honey pot itself, (the thing with the bearing in it) Use a suitable drift to knock the bearing out. Then grease up the new bearing, and reverse removal procedure. Make sure you line the ignition switch rod and cog right when putting it back together.
