Summernats

Yep, I went down this year, first time in 5 years and had been about half a dozen times before that. But this year I noticed that there didnt seem to be as many entrants, nor the variety of cars i.e nothing much new or exicting. They keep banging on about how its getting more family orientated, that its getting bigger and better etc, but its really just an exercise in how pissed you can get. I enjoyed a few cold ones while walking around, but nowhere near smashed. If im gonna spend the money and make the trip I want to at least remember being there !

i went last year after years of umming and aahing,first thing to give me the tomtits is i was charged a higher than advertised price,crowded,hot over priced drinks(soft drink)too many meatheads,yep it was family oriented if your family has 2 heads,any good looking woman was asked to flash and when they didn't was berated and sworn at will i go again? nope

Nats are crap, as everyone above has said its full of pissheads with a combo of no brain and a gutfull of beer you wonder why not many new cars or in fact older cars bother anymore? because most people who have spent years on a car and thousands of $$$ dont want a pack of dead[Naughty Pottyword]s touching there car and yelling BURRRRRRRRNOUT..........TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITS!! And a new family friendly Summernats... hmm I seen a alcohol stand every 10mtrs this year, stick it in your ear Summernats Im staying in Melbourne next year

i havnt been to summernats or Bathurst becuase my dad wont go becuase of the piss heads(im 17) but i think im going 2 go to nexr years ill be 18 then.
i just got back from a week in Bathurst and my mate down the road came over and asked where i had been and i siad i went 2 Bathurst and the 1st thing he siad was " DID YOU GET PISSED'? becuase he throught i went to watch the a race

I went to the All Holden Day at Richmond (Sydney) early last year and had a great time just looking. I've been interested in Summernats but after hearing all about the 'Nats here and elsewhere, I think I'll stay home. Much better than burnouts and having my girlfriend yelled at to get her bits out.

Yeah the old Summernats used to be a bunch of car loving fun loving people enjoying seeing what the bloke next door has been doing to his car over the last year or seeing that feature car from street machine mag. This is now stuffed (has been for a few years now) by grog and just a pack of wankers who started going to the event, most without a entered car. It seems the way we are these days... Gallipoli on ANZAC day is not a time to get [Naughty Pottyword]faced and wear a aussie flag and leave the place looking like a tip...like 99% of backpackers do when they visit... Summernats dosnt give you a free pass to get [Naughty Pottyword]faced and be a mongrel to every passing women, seeing some guy in a NSW top on state of origin night dosnt give you a free pass to punch him in the face. People spoil it for everyone else and give the rest a bad name and take things to far and things loose meaning very fast!

so what cars did get stolen from summernats?
and there is a lot that acn be done to make that place more faimly freindly like making achollo only areas like other shows have and make food and drink a more realistic prices, so maybe they could give all of the local towns rotary clubs and lion clubs a go at supplying food as i dont think any money goes to charity. And maybe they should bring the police in to control things as they could fine people for littering as the place is a mess after dark.

This was my first year there and it needs an owfull lot of work to convince me to go again and im a non drinker.
