What you said is what it is, it's a GM Varajet II carby, as fitted to all VC-VK Commodores, but jetted differently for the 'backfire' sorry starfire 4!! I have an exploded view, but only on paper. Even if you grab a Gregory's manual for your car it should have the exploded view of the carby, or even most carby kits come with one in the packet!!

Warping of the throttle plate is common on these which causes a miss and the auto choke doesn't work as a result.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I've replaced a few of these over the years.

Easiest thing to do is get an adapter plate and put a 32/36 Down Draft Weber on it.

The motor will run a lot nicer and cheaper with more power then what it did with the varajet.

The varajets can be reco'd, but every time I've tried to get one done, it's always ended up being problems. Far easier to just put a weber on.

Good luck.
