yes ,i had a hr ute many years ago with the same thing ,,before safty glow vests so you didnt get hit getting in.,,they saved two shillings on every one that way!!!
Good decision! Besides a HK,T,G monaro, I reckon that is th perfect Old Holden to build/modify. I was lookin for 1 years ago but couldnt find 1. Got too many others now. They seemed to find ME. Whats your plans? Well done & good luck. VAUGHAN
thanks vaughan plan to keep it fairly stock just a 186 hr front end .quess it could do with new paint-job .it is already in very good driveable condition.only 41000 miles
As has been explained beforehand and it will come up again, the reason there is only one lock on the left, from 48/215 right up to hr,in the standard Utes vans sedans and wagons goes back to the us of a imports, they had the door lock or the left side(being the drivers side)and it was kept like that hear, the specials and premier's got both locks. Some storeys i have heard are so tradesmen could only get in the left of cars,or it was so you had to open the door to let the women in first.and other crap. as for it being before safety vests to stop you getting hit getting in are you tying to be funny or do you really believe that a so called safety vest (it is rely a high visibility vest)will stop you from getting hit by a car truck or a fork or a bit of a plane it wont.the details on locks in 48 215 to hr is in most if not all books written on the holden and i believe t did or was going to put these details in the paedia thanks mackv8 (3028)
