Future prices of oldholdens

Wondering what everyone thinks prices of oldholdens (48-215 - say WB) will be in say 50 years time, considering there will be some vehicles involved in accidents, theft and fire, along with those considered too rusted out by their owner and scraped.

Also costs of parts in 50 years time? Along with what do you think the availability and pricing of specialists will be who are capable of working on oldholdens?

Lastly what sort of pricing of original factory car compared to modified specs?

Would love to buy an original car and put it into storage for 50years!!

Cheers

Jesse

In 50 yrs time

Possibly be like the previous models now like the old fords and chev's i doubt there will be many of the new type cars around as they dont survive as well as the older ones

I wont be here in 50 yrs time i'd be 102 if i were and in a nursing home i think

if the greenies get there

if the greenies get there way we will be having to drive electric or hydrogen cars and fuel will be obsolete

in 50 years you will need a

in 50 years you will need a special permit to purchase flammable liquids ,so not much i think.

Fifty Years

In 50 years time there will still be some of the older cars just like there is veteran and vintage cars around today. The availability of fuel may be another matter.
As to prices, without my crystal ball... who knows.
I think I would have been for a ride in the rear of the hearse by then.

Real Old Holdens

Since when do we classify a WB holden as an old Holden ???

Old Holdens are the classics from the very first up to the H Series....

I am currently cruising around in an Old HR Premier ( 43 Years Old )dont want to store it for future dollars.Want to enjoy it now.....

Because on the 11th day GOD created the HOLDEN to enjoy. You want some financial security down the track, buy some f**king shares in BHP!!!

hey yeah you in your hr prem (whoopee!!)i dont know who appointed you the be all and end all of what constitutes an OLD Holden but i'd rather drive a WB ute or van with 666000 clicks on it than an HD or HR (-the two ugliest holdens ever built)Think about it noddy what someone likes around here someone else doesnt like.

Definition of old

If it was made before you were born it is old.

Summary of YouTube fast-car nonsense

old

an old Holden is a Holden out of warranty. Thats what I think anyway, lol.

I am not sure if there will be cars that we own on the road in 50 years.

rusty

in 50 years you won't be

in 50 years you won't be able to buy any parts. you can't buy some parts for 25 year old Commodores now, and it will get worse as the manufacturers only carry parts for 10 years.
So buy all the parts you can now and stash them.

Values as it ages

Would you say certain makes value as they age?

If I managed to live for another 51 years, I'd be 80yrs old and the only way I want to go to out is in the back of an old HR holden hearse! And I'll fight till my very last breath to keep driving my HZ holden's and won't let anyone stop me from doing that up till the moment I die or when I can't physically/mentally drive anymore!

I hope someone invents an add on fuel conversion like LPG that will allow me to run my car on whatever fuel is the accepted thing at the time, if anything like that comes to pass!

I've seen photographs from someone here on OH who made moulds for something or other, which slips my mind at present, however I'd hope those skills could be passed on to others to keep old holdens alive for ever.

These cars are our heritage, they have helped shape this great nation into the place it is today and its great having show pieces in holden museums, though its even better when people like me and you can hop in our awesome cars and go for a drive where ever we wish.

Damn got a bug in my eye! lol

I'd buy the last HZ....

What do you currently pay for a SLR-5000 ? or better still an A9-X ? The value of anything is determined by supply and demand. Gt falcons (sorry, ford mention again!) are now so rare that they can't be driven, and as such the price of "Fakers" has risen dramatically, they can fetch as much as $100,000 !!
If a car turns heads it has value. As they become fewer and fewer the value has to go up, I would pay big bucks for a street machine berore a ferrari anyday.

As for parts, the bits you break commonly should always be available repro,(for a price) as long as there is a market.
And Fuel, well alcohol will always be around!!!

I hope I'm driving a Tonner at 80 :)
