I hope someone can help me with this? I have a WB Ute 308 with 4 speed M20. Factory V8. When releasing clutch the pedal comes up very slow. Is there meant to be a clutch return spring or not. The problem only seems there after the vehicle has been driven for 15mins. Heat releated? It has always done it since i have owned it. I have just had a heavy duty clutch fitted, flywheel machined and cable replaced. The nose cone had no groves in it. Ps clutch was replaced due to clutch shudder. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Jamie
concerning slow clutch release.
thanks for feedback. yes the whole clutch kit was replaced as well as flywheel machined. The gregorys manual dosent show spring fitted but on pedal shaft where its bolted thru the mount thers is a spring on the shaft? I havd just noted after cable replaced i drove approx 30 kms and it has falen back onto the extractors, mate said that could be enough to stuff the cable? as well as the clutch pedal being very slow to release its also feels like it grates on applying and releasing the clutch. I use to work for Ford (i know thats a unspoken word) and we use to have alot of problems with nose cones wearing causing the same feelig, but mine not worn.
Thanks again
jamie
there is usually a spring up
there is usually a spring up at the pedal , it may be missing , if you have replaced the cable and it is still slow to return ... you could put a spring down at the clutch fork and see if that helps, you dont need a really strong one ...
wombat.
Clutch
Did you replace the pressure plate as well
