HG VAN FRONT SUSPENSION

My Van is a 5/70 HG, Body number 1A Chassis HG00013A and when cleaning the front suspension while dismantled for a rebuild I found an 'X' stenciled on the top surface a little to the Drivers Side of centre as well as 'AM' stenciled on the PS in front of the engine mount. My HG Ute also has 'AM' stenciled on it. Can anyone shed any light on why these stencils are there? Particularly the 'X'? I have only ever seen part numbers on them.
The lower pivot shafts have threads on them. I would have thought that the inners would be straight smooth shafts for the upper and lower rubber bushes. I know HK had steel screw pivots on the inners.
Thank you.
Ron

I haven't replaced the lower shafts on these before. I wondered if they were screwed in. I will ad a pic or two soon. A link would be great Tim.
Thanks.

I'd be interested in the pics, I like this kinda stuff. Here's the link, some pics may not open. This is a 'fake' shed, no longer part of oldholden:

Here are the pics Tim. I will email them to you too. Several pics wouldn't open but those that did are interesting. We should keep adding to them anytime we find something new.
Cheers,
Ron

Great pics. I can't add pics to this link unfortunately, that's not a real page. Hard to explain, but that's a copy of my real oldholden shed. I have a few more somewhere here, more just scribblings and chalk-marks from the factory.

They could be codes to identify what type of front end assembly it is, therefore what it goes in.
For example, suspension specifications:
Commercial vehicle: stiffer springs and maybe shocks
Kingswood/Belmont: standard load rating
premier: a little bit softer.
Brake type: disc or drum.
Motor: a code for six cylinder mounts, another for V8.
I know the EH manual lists different spring rates and spring pads according to what variant it was.
