Holden EH Nasco / VDO clock gauge

Hi All,
I have an issue wiring the EH Nasco Clock into my EH and was hoping for some help and or advice. I have a copy of the Nasco instructions, thanks to another member. The instructions say to remove the Lamp Globes from the harness, which means I will have a pink wire and a coloured wire for each instrument.
I then connect the coloured wires to the instruments..but what do I do with the pink wires?
As per the images, I see where instrument wires go but I am stumped about what to do with the pink wires. Do you connect them to the back of the clock where the image shows a red wire. Do you need to run any wires to the fuze box? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers!

I am good a guessing SOMETIMES so be careful as it is not my fault.
1. Can you get the oil and temp lamps working with the right coloured wires from the EH wiring diag in the manual?
2. Whats left to wire? The terminal on the white plastic marked + and the spade metal connector alone on the side?
3. I'm fully guessing the clock mech itself is not earthed to the car body like most things and that is the spade connector eg: -

4. Did I guess right or did it blow up? The clock will make a whirring sound once +12V is connected as this is winding up.

I am not sure there is anything to blow up in it, maybe a cap. Don't leave it connected if it does nothing/heats up/smokes/burns/etc. Connect it for half a second or less to test for windup sound.

These things are priced like gold so get a multimeter to test some of this or better still take it to someone that will be responsible. I'd play with this on a bench first not in the car. Normally I've seen them with two terminals at the rear btw...and I never seem to read instructions til afterwards.

5. Once you know how all the bits power up on the bench you can work out the dash wires or read Davids instructions below as he is taking responsibility if it goes wrong.

From my EH manual wiring diagram, the pink wires look to be the positive power supply from the fuse panel to the idiot lights.
The lights are then earthed through the coloured wires to their respective senders, which completes the circuit, thus turning the idiot lights on.
The dash light circuit on the standard idiot light cluster is earthed through the standard metal housing.
The clock has a plastic/bakelite housing.
So, to my logic, the pink wires would go to the positive connection, and the spade connector on the side would be an earth.
You could probably replace the multiple pink wires to the idiot light cluster with a single pink wire. Caution: that pink wire also supplies power to the fuel gauge, so be sure that connection still works.
If it blows up when you follow my logic, I never wrote this.

I just read the instructions that were posted to you a few weeks ago. Step 8 states to connect the socket with the pink lead to the terminal between green and blue connections which is spade on the side and the positive goes to the light switch

Andrew

that make sense as there is a second + symbol which lines up with the spade terminal on the side. so i would assume that the pinks all common up and go to that, as yes checking my EH wiring diagram shows the pinks to be 12v positive power for the tell tale lights, which only comes on with Ign switch, where as the + on the clock would need permanent 12v supply so clock didnt stop when ignition was turned off
