This is the fuel gauge in our EH.
The date seems a bit late to me, especially since our body number is 1028S.
Maybe it had a warranty replacement.

Cutting if fine for warranty
possibly but the warranty was only for 1 year back then...that gauge was made at the very end of the EH production... it might have been replaced a few to several years after the car was made?

from a Van or Ute..?
They usually came the year after release of the sedan and wagon.
EH fuel guage
could have been replaced 5 or more times in the EH's life who knows? Feb 1965 was last EH built to make way for the mighty HD, (put that in for you Shane.)
