Has anyone seen one of these before? A bloke at work found a couple under his house recently. It looks to be cast iron (maybe) and has "open day 1988" (I think its 1988 anyway) stamped into it.
Comments
Never
seen one but pretty cool none the less. That's the VL Commodore year and Lion Logo,Just guessing but looks like a local car yard may have got them made up locally for an Open Day or the Holden Plant Open Day?...
Cheers Al....

There is a lot of VN stuff from 1988, including 40th anniversary. So might have been for an open day at Lang Lang or the Elizabeth pant, as the Dandenong plant shut in late 1988, or the fisherman's bend factory
The lion is 1971 to 1995
And then

casting
As far as I can remember, one was cast and dated in 1985 at F/BEND to commemorate the 5000,000 Family 2 export engine and one was cast and dated in 1986 for employees and families for an open day to visit both the engine plants and foundry. I have a few of these casts. AL.
FJ Sedan, FJ Ute, all Steel.
Another casting
This one was cast in 2009 (last Family 2 off the line) AL.
FJ Sedan, FJ Ute, all Steel.
oldholden.com casting
Grigsby's foundry kindly(Thanks Dave) sent 2 sand casts to commemorate all of us being good blokes. I should be able to find them for a photo if someone wants a look.
