'99 VT 3.8 Ltr Alternator on its way out, fix the alt or replace the whole lot?

Alternator on its way out only giving me 11 volts and in dire need of getting this sorted asap, is it more expensive to fix the alternator or to just replace the whole thing?

Comments

like most things today a new replacement is
cheaper than repairing the old unit
replace it for under $200

You can buy a brush/regulator kit and it's easy to fit once you have the alternator out.
