marriage is the only contract I am aware of when one party can break the contract and suffer no economic consequences due to "no fault divorce" legislation...in every other contract if one party does not honour their role the other party is eligible to seek economic compensation....sadly the law only views marriage as no more than an economic unity/arrangement between 2 people..so when the partnership dissolves the law is only concerned with the distribution of the economic assets...and guess what it does not favour men! A woman can run off with a third party, keep control of the kids and leave the man from a long term partnership with 20-30% of the nett worth despite contributing 80% to it - welcome to family law and "justice" in Australia.
