A mate at work is restoring( dare I say a XT GT Ford) its a gold in colour and lots of chrome, so that makes it all right I guess lol
Anyway He asked me what I use to polish my Chrome work and remove water spots that's not going to cost an arm and a leg, as there's so meany different chemicals on the market.
This is what I have used for meany years(as a detailer) and my dear old dad used it on ALL his cars and Bike (BSA),
Go buy a "Coke 600mm" and drink it (with or without your favorite beverage) lol
Than go and buy a can of "Brasso" from Coles,Woolies, Bunnings, around the $10 mark,
Poor Brasso into EMPTY Coke bottle, Fill 3/4 empty Brasso tin with "White Kerro", and shake, than add to your Coke bottle,
than do the shake or the twist or your favorite dance move lol
The Brasso is a polishing agent and the Kerro is a Cutting agent.
This will remove "water spots" on your chrome, and leave it like MR Sparkles lol.
Hope this helps a Fellow member,

As I always say
Stay safe and have a safe day

Chrome cleaning.
Once the water spots are gone, I once heard a chrome plater at a car club meeting say the say the best thing to keep chrome in good condition and shiny is Mr Sheen. It will lightly polish and the wax will protect.

Ted Bullpit used it all the time on his Kingswood lol

autosol is to abrasive and will damage chrome , eventually making it thinner

Great tips. Good ole kero gets a run again.
When I was in yr10, my tech teacher told me to take a good sniff from the Brasso can.
What a bastard! The class + teacher got a good laugh at my expense. Lucky i didnt pass out. But that was the 80's.

But yea we all did silly things sober lol.
I remember my dear old dad got my younger brother with a door bell trick around the same age, like the hand shake shock trick, Dad be in the shed and the door bell had a speaker in shed, use to watch him just sit down at the bench then ring the door bell and run.
Dad was an electrical instrument fitter, (clever bugger) and ridge this up one arvo, sat down at the bench and flicked a toggle switch, "Bang" ffffff got him lol

I wouldn't use autosol on chrome as it is an abrasive and will damage it, eventually wearing it out. I have seen this many times before. Only use it on alloy to bring out the shine.

Ok have never had issues with autosol, however in 10 yrs i have only done my chrome with it once, most times just use the quick detailer or armourall or just a clean dry microfibre, might be time to try the brasso and kero

I polish my chrome bars with carnauba wax, no issues with water spots.
