help finding my dads HQ

hey there,

so my dad bought a HQ ss monaro for his first car when he was 19-20 and ended up selling it a while after, myself and my two brothers think it would be real cool to see if it is still around and see if it is even possible to get it back. The only problem is that we dont think there would be any documents with the VIN or manufacture number. We have photos of it with the number plate but that is about it, is there anyway to find it with just the number plate? Any kind of info would help!

cheers!
