HJ Kingswood Speedo

The speedo needle has dropped off :( It was bouncing for a while then just fell off. The odometer is working fine so I assume the cable etc is fine. Where do I start to fix this? Can I get the speedo out without removing the whole dash? Thanks Gerry

Give Harrison Early spares a call he has a guy who restores gauges for all makes. You have to remove the dash facia and there will be screws holding the speedo onto the dash support, the speedo drive is push on when you reach around behind the speedo you will feel a clip that is a sleeve around the cable push it sideways and pull the cable down and it should come off.

Unfortunately you have to remove the facia (the plastic) the headlight switch has a button on the side that you can get your thumb on behind the dash you press it An pull an push the light switch, you can try to remove the facia without undoing the steering column but l think from memory you have to loosen it abit as well
