ok so some more tinkering today,
Pulled one of the front calipers off, getting ready to rebuild them.

this is the disc, you cant see it but there is about a 3 mm depression on the back side as well.

reckon they will machine up?

Yes thats an 8mm spanner yes there room to spare

They look like original HR discs with the friction lining on them.
If there is less than 8mm thickness I think they need relacing. DBA say minimum 9mm thickness.

Was said tounge in cheek David about machining them, they are well rooted, the back pad was so far imbedded into the disc i couldnt get the caliper off with the pads in place, i had to `leave pads behind and use a jimmy bar to lever the caliper off,
I already have a set of NOS discs to go on,
just have to get the seized pistons out of the calipers first.

I realise that it was tongue in cheek.
I haven't seen one of those original discs for about 30 years.
