Bruce McPhee was a bit of a legend. A pretty quiet bloke from a property west of Wyong. He kept under the radar for many years and didnt do a lot of interviews, if any? he died a few years ago
Dont ya just love how they bought a car, drove it down to Bathurst and drove it home again.
Those were they days where the car that won on Sunday, could be bought on monday. An era so far removed from the racing cars of today that bear little resemblance to the car you buy from the dealer. This is why I just cant get into watching motorsport these days.

It all changed in 1972 and by the late 70s the cars were so removed from what came off the factory floor, but that is what the "people" wanted. Then they ran some production racing at Easter in the mid 90s to early 2000s, but no one cared.

The last Holden "Homologation special" for production racing was the VP V6 SS Commodore. It did not do that well against the XR6 Falcon.

The last Holden to race was a VY SS.
