1961 Chev Impala 4 door pillarless hardtop. This picture is from Mr Google.
I saw one of these on Sunday. It was in original unrestored condition apart from the mechanicals.
Australian delivered, built by Holden, factory right hand drive.
The owner said there was only eight built out here, 5 were Beliars and three were Impalas.
That would make his particular Impala a very rare car, maybe even the only one left.

I've seen a fair few Aus 64s, I guess what little demand for them here disappeared when Holdens got V8s and Australia started making their own big cars.

I've had a few Aussie Chevs and Pontiacs from the 60's.I believe they were shipped from Detroit across the water to Canada (tax reasons) and assembled in Australia. When Holden brought out the Brougham that was the end of them.
